Thanks Infernal!!!

But I am disappointed about what they said about the engine being the "LOWLIGHT" of the car.

Shouldn't they both have Michelin Primacy tires?

Thanks a bunch! I'm' really surprised at the difference in attitudes toward the BRZ and the 86. It's strange that the cars can seem that far apart.

I love it. Does anybody else read the front cover out loud in Clarkson's voice? LOL

Best article yet!

Some key points:
-Confirmed WRB is subaru only
-Confirmed, yet again, that there will NEVER be a turbo model
-Confirmed, from engineers, that with proper valvetrain a high RPM NA monster is possible.

BRZ STI with 240 HP and weight reduction? Sounds like a RWD ITR to me

Cosworth can get its hands on it a give us a Cosworth BRZ CS300 lightweight monster at 40.000 € (price of a BMW 135i Coupé).

The Blue!! Oh the Blue!! Any rumors in there about an STi release date? I don't want to wait for it, but I may upgrade later down the road...

Notice that they winge that the GT 86 is not quick enough but slightly quicker than an MX-5. The UK spec 2.0 MX-5 manages 0-100Km/h in 7.6seconds

Thanks for the pics! A great article with lots of insight and perspective. Ollie Marriage is also a writer for EVO, so this makes sense.

I'm surprised in the difference in tone from both reviews. The BRZ one is glowing with no mention of low power. The 86 review ragged on the car as too neutral, under powered, harsh sounding/noisy.... The as1 may be a very love it or hate it affair

I wonder if this means mid/high 6 second 0 - 60's are overly optimistic. I don't need big power but would like to see a sub 7 second 0 - 60, I don't wanna be slower than a Camry.

I personally love the engine note! Its reviews like this that stop car manufacturers making sporty models with nice exhaust notes....

I'd love to see some sort of cosworth stroker/turbo kit, I <3 cosworth

it would even be nice if prodrive had a go at it

The article said the BRZ and 86 have different engine tunes. Any truth to this?
