Yep. The design was fine. The materials used...not so much.

Miata's are all too small for any sort of daily use. and I am not rich enough to own a car purely for track events and weekend runs ( I wanna initial d style car, I do own an SUV but that is more likely less driven.)
The impreza's I want are the old GD chassis and all of them are hyper old now and beat. and the new ones are still 28+ plus for a desirable ( thank you cali)
the mustang just felt boaty and didnt have the same spirit, though I suppose its a good car, its not as sharp as the BRZ would be. thouh the BRZ pales in comparison to the s2000, but see miata for the reason I dont have another

And yes subaru is master race. I will be glad to use the subaru parts desk now and service center.. and not having to deal with toyota, the service people are nice enough but its a pain to have to pay the upcharge for toyota's parts vs just getting the subarus bits and putting it in myself.

For what it's worth, unless its some cosmetic bit, are there really any parts you can't buy for the Toyota at Subaru? I don't think they would refuse to sell you a part.

I might sell my car for a Wrangler now and buy a C8 when it comes out.

Isn't the C8 already out? If you can find one without markup (good luck) you could at least skip a step.

A few years ago I needed to replace an o2 sensor. Toyota quoted me a few bucks shy of $500 for it, went to Subaru and they asked $230 or something.

I think Subaru is actually a better bet for parts

Yeah they only ask for a VIN to verify it's the right part for the car. I buy stuff all the time and tell them "Well it's a swap so..." and then they disregard the VIN

It's for sale, but it isn't being delivered yet. Last time I checked they were claiming to be close to having a sellout on the first year just based on reservations, so aren't going to be a lot of "spec units" just sitting at the dealer waiting for buyers for a while.
