Geico MBI + FR-S = no dice

I just got off the phone with Geico asking them about MBI (mechanical breakdown insurance) because I was interested in it as a safety net for dealer-related shenanigans. Turns out they don't cover "my sort of car" (read: sports cars) under MBI, even though I was able to go through the process of requesting a quote online.

Has anyone been told otherwise? Geico is usually excellent to work with so I was surprised. Do any other insurance companies provide something comparable AND actually cover an 86?

I got my loan through my credit union and according to their website offer it, but that was the only thing they didn't try to upsell me on for additional products with my loan. Maybe there's something to this.

Just checked my credit union's site and it looks like they offer something similar, gonna check it out. Thanks!

BS Geico offered me this on both of my FR-S's.

TRD-X, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I'm thinking they may have declined to give me coverage because I'm 25. I've heard that insurance rates in general go down when you get past that milestone, so maybe they won't give MBI to "kids in sports cars" because we're gonna do something stupid and break our toys.
