BRZ Limited Backup Camera Step by Step (WARNING long post, many pictures)

So I got mine installed
Strangely the guide lines don't work at all from the head unit. Pretty sure they did when I test fitted it. Not sure what I changed.
Am using a 12v camera triggered by a relay.
The rear camera shows as NG (no good) in the line diag menu but it still works perfectly.
Hmmm...
Not desperate for the guide lines but I did like the idea of having them lined up correctly. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21365682871.656000.jpg

Someone told me that head units in AUS don't show grid lines. I'd guess that that's the cause of the behavior you are seeing.

It seems like Boyo VTK200C has been replaced by VTK210C.

I just did this to the car. Took my time... about 2 hours with interruptions watching the kids. Easy due to all the excellent instructions on this forum. My only hiccup was the ground wire from SVXdc's harness is not quite long enough. I had to add about 6 inches of wire and was good. Otherwise plug and play.

I had a bit of a play with mine tonight.
I found that by pressing the buttons in a different sequence I could access either the line diag menu or the service menu....

you have to do it really fast but pressing and holding the 3 in order audio->voice->map then i got into the line diag menu

pressing and holding map->voice->audio in sequence got me into the service menu

I had to do this really quick, almost instantaneously but it was definitely repeatable. you will need to play a bit to get the knack of it!
I cannot, for the life of me, get into the line diag menu.

Just press all three at the same time then. You should eventually get into it by chance!

How long did you all have to wait to get a quote on ordering the 16-pin rear camera harness, with head unit power wire from ae64.com?

In my case, it was several days before he sent me an email back. That said, once I sent payment, it was shipped fairly promptly.

Question, what is the gray wire on the 16 pin that you are not hooking back up?

Crap. I bookmarked this page for my install. Came back today to do it and the pics are all gone! Any chance of getting them back (looks like your bandwidth was exceeded)?

(BTW, I think the gray wire tells the radio if the handbrake is on, which is useless b/c the GPS uses speed sensors.)

hopefulyl this gets fixed. Probably the best DIY i've seen in awhile, granted the install was easy.

I got this done in like 3 hours the other day myself.

Hope the OP or someone who was awesome enough reposts this, but hosted on imgur.com. Stupid bandwidth limits! I was thinking about doing this install tomorrow...

I had made a backup of this great DIY in case I lost track of it, I uploaded the PDF of it to my Dropbox acct, you should be able to download it here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0by%20Step.zip

Hopefully this is a good temporary copy until the OP replaces the images with another host, PM me if you have problems downloading or if a MOD wants me to take it down.
