Sounds like BS. Even though you only drove 2000 miles, you can still do an oil change. Just like the tire rotation, he can also argue that because you drove only 2000 miles, it's not necessary for a rotation yet. Or if he's a real scumbag, he'll say he did it but never did.



What possible fluid check can possibly be done in the first service anyways? Pop the hood yourself and see if brake, clutch, coolant are all between max and min.

I'd at least like them at 3000 miles to make sure I'm not burning coolant off or losing any of the fluid somewhere, it has happened before on these cars and even had TSBs made for certain issues. Might as well have them do it as well.

If the car is on the lift anyway for the tire rotation, they usually do that while the oil is draining out quickly, it was just one salty service advisor.
