Same with any intake out there, and probably better than most.

Based upon my personal observations (and I've been keeping a close eye on it for obvious reasons), there are no intakes out there that will develop power across the board without a tune... and then who's to say it's even the intake that is developing the power, after one?

I think their powerband is very indicative of what any quality manufacturer is going to put out there, for an intake alone.

Research the dyno sheets of intakes around this site. You are correct about MOST of them. But there are some that do produce power in the whole band, and in very little spots its even with stock.

What does it mean to throw codes?

throwing codes means the modified intake causes the ECU to see a problem and display it as a check engine light.

This is not a classic cold air intake in the sense that it is putting a filter outside of the engine bay. However, its design means it will be getting cold air and is sealed from hot air. So IMO no it will not suck up water unless you drive through a puddle that goes up to the stock air intake's location.

Which of course means you've just had an accident and are now in a lake and your intake sucking up water is the least of your problems.
