Ok, so quick update. I got in the car to drive home and everything seemed normal, but now it would not go into 3rd, 1,2,4,5,6,r seemed ok. I drove homeon the highway, kept it in 6th all the way cruising and seemed ok. About a 15minute drive at 65-75 speeds. Once i got off highway, tried to engage 2nd and barely got it there, wouldnt go to 2nd. So i put it in 3rd and drove into neighborhood. Once in neighborhood after a stop sign, from neurtral, had a hard time getting into 1st, 2nd. Began making a bunch of chattering noise in neutral, then as i slowly drove in 1st through the neighborhood, it was making alot of chattering type noise. Pulle dinto my garage, in neutral and it was making lots of this noise.
Now im thinking that possibly its clutch, maybe even low tranny fluid? Im going to keep it parked for the next couple days, not daily (luckily), and then lift it up and check the tranny fluid levels. Maybe even swap the fluid for the heck of it and see about the noise and how it drives/engages gears. Hoping i get lucky and its low fluid, or even a possible bad clutch. |

Sounds like it could be the throw out bearing on its way out.

What brand clutch,
This is what happens with cheap eBay Chinese metal the springs eat through fall out and bind on the pressure plate and clutch disc. So even when you press the clutch in its not disengaging. Also makes lots of noise bouncing around. One way to test is rev matching shifts but not for beginners. You can actually change gears without using a clutch pedal by bliping the throttle and finding the prefect RPM for the syncros to line up. If it still is not shifting its Syncros.

sounds exactly like mine did. hard to get into gears (random gears it seemed). lots of noises, even in neutral. had to hold it in gear sometimes to keep it from popping out. shifter travel was shorter than normal randomly for some gears. drain the fluid, you will probably find gear material

Your issue sounds similar to what I've dealt with recently, although I have not significantly modified my car. Mine was only giving me problems when shifting from third to fourth at redline when the transmission was at full operating temperature. The dealer replaced it under warranty, which I doubt they would be willing to do for you, considering the modifications.
I would steer clear of AutoNation, and Groove to a lesser extent. |
