That's the highest tripod I've ever seen on an AWD car, especially in the wet. Ford must be trying hard to make this car neutral given the rear roll stiffness we're seeing. I think it's going to be a fun car. Just hope there's a good system for re-directing torque away from that free-spinning rear wheel.

A $40-$50k Focus? NoTY. There are plenty of fast AWD choices in this price range.
Also, still fugly and dowdy compared to any '86 that can be built to be just as fast and more pure with it's RWD and light weight. |

40-50k? No. 35-40k sounds right if awd is true. We only have a few weeks to find out. If it's awd and has any sort of decent steering feel ( current focus fails at that) then I'll probably buy one and sell the brz and m3.

I'm all for a domestic hot hatch, but I just don't like ford styling. specifically for the focus and fiesta.

Depends on a late of factors. I'm not an EVO guy as I don't trust Mitsu (haven't owned one yet that I'd consider reliable). Also, I prefer hatchbacks over the sedan boy racer look also.. and the functionality/storage (hockey player so I use said storage often enough for it to be a factor, BRZ SUCKS for hauling hockey shit). If it's sub 3k lbs that would be pretty awesome but with Ford I don't count on much there It's going to be limited so if that's true they have a bit more leeway in making it interesting

The Fiesta ST is far more fun than the Focus ST but I can't imagine they'd fit an AWD system in the Fiesta (assuming the Focus RS gets one) so unless they do a revoknuckle for the Fiesta RS then torque steer will be just as shitty as the Focus ST. I just wish we would get a 3 door hatch version of anything here. The 5 door hatch just doesn't do much for me usually. The new CTR kinda gives a 3 door hatch feel because the hatch area is rather small, but the Focus 5 door hatch just looks too long for me and same with the VW Golf R.
What happened to the 3 door hatch?

AWD is basically confirmed. Thank god it won't be 300hp+ and FWD.
