Fair enough. I just feel strongly that drinking and performance driving do not go together. I hope that if there is a drive the people who choose to attend will abstain or seriously watch what they drink at the event.

Personally, even if I have one beer, I'm then no longer in the correct state of mind for spirited driving. Again, just don't want anything to happen that could ruin the reputation of our NorCal 86 DRIVE group.

Sorry if I sound like a stuffy old man or buzzkill (no pun intended) but I truly think this is one case where it's better to be safe than sorry.

I totally agree with you on this Drew. I personally am not much of a drinker so will probably stick to soda/water anyways. So those of us who aren't drinking may want to do a little drive after, but as you say those who plan to do that will need to abstain or sit this drive out.

If we're doing a drive after, I'd happily stay sober. May I request that we do a drive on the roads north of Dublin? I feel like that's a rare place that we don't really get into.

Anyone know their way around there?

Not to steal idea (only because it's a good one), but what about going to see Rush after? I would love to go on Friday but can't justify driving to the bay twice. We will be right by the theater.

There aren't too many interesting roads around Dublin if it's the area I think you're talking about. Collier Canyon and Highland Rd are OK but very bumpy/poor road condition. Morgan Territory we did a while back and is too narrow/nerve-wracking for a group. Some of the roads near Altamont and Patterson Pass might be worth checking out.

it's a good idea, but for same reasons I wouldn't want to go on Fri or Sat... I hate crowds so I avoid going to see movies on opening weekend.
