I have experimented with Petro 91 and Shell 91. I have no crickets on Shell 91 but they return when switching back to Petro 91.

Once I get my OFT I will experiment with Stage 1 tune and different fuels.

What are the Stage 1 tune options, 91 and 93? Is there a 94 tune or just use 94 with the 93 tune?

Crickets generally caused by 10% ethanol fuels, its annoying but does not appear to be harmful.

E85 fuels have some additives that generally supress crickets

Always run a fuel of equal or higher octane rating than the tune is designed for.

91 tune for 91 and higher octane (slightly reduced power compared to 93 tune maybe 3-4 hp due 1 degree less ignition advance top end)

93 tune for 93 octane and higher fuels

E85 tunes for E85 fuels only.

and i would suggest 93 tune only with 94 octane in canada... as i had knock on 91 tune with 91 gas. (on high rpm, 6000+ with Stage 2 bpb) seems like our gas is not the best...

Most of our OFT 2 cars are using Petro and corn juice 93 - seems smoother and more powerful . I tried OFT 2 and Shell 91 with Torco bringing it up to 94 and it seemed powerful but not as smooth as the Pierre Elliot Trudeau Ripped Off Canada corn liquor gas.

For stage 1, Shell 91.

I plan to test stage 2 with Shell no corn juice 91 with 1 gal. of race gas per tank to bring it up to 94 and see wha hoppen.

Quick question,
I have downloaded the bin files for my car with the correct calid (from the OFT web site, OTS v2.061 [Stg1 A00G]). Where do I look to see if they are 91 or 93 oct tunes.
I am from Australia and I believe we should be using the 91 oct tune for our fabulous 98 we have here.
I cannot seem to find.
What am I missing

And are people still using TunerPro or have you all gone to RomRaider

Cheers,

Jeff

i have some quick questions. I have ecutek on my car already, been thinking about getting an open flash tablet so that i can do my own tunes and learn and i don't have to wait for a tune update when i do mods. Quick questions, does open flash support flex fuel yet? Do i have to have ecutek erased from my ecu to use open flash? or does the ecu just need to be reverted back to stock rom?

OFT does not have flex fuel option yet. to run E85 (tune copes with 60% to 90% E blends.) you have to flash E85 tune, to revert to petrol flash petrol tune. unfortunately no tune switching yet either.

You will have to flash back your "stock "ecutek" rom to the ecu so its not locked or encrypted and no longer contains a "multiswitchable race rom tune".

Unfortunatly Ecutek "stock" tunes are not 100% stock they contain some licience info embedded in the rom. this is not a problem for the OFT, but its possible you may loose your ecutek licience. if you write over this information in the rom.

however the OFT does store a copy of the "stock rom" when you marry up oft to your car so theroeticly when you unmarry the OFT your stock ecutek rom will be reritten to car and you can use ecuteck again.

Just flash your "stock" ecutek rom back to car and you should be all good.

read the OFT Tips link below.

also confirm what I have said with the OFT guys they are very helpful.

Why not just use ECUtek if you have it already?

Why not DIY on ECUtek? If you have a cable you have all you need....
