Not to stick a pin in the balloon, but Japan is a slooooow country. That's something that you don't appreciate unless you have driven there - this video is a bit less than truthy. The general speed limit is 60, except on divided national highways where it is 100. And that's in KPH!! In the video, you occasionally get a glimpse of the 60 limit sign - that is, the maximum speed limit is 36 MPH on every two-lane road in Japan. On the Japanese version of an interstate highway, the speed limit is 62 MPH. And the police do not take kindly to speeding - Japan is a VERY orderly country. For some of the shooting in this video, Motor Trend surely took advantage of the Gaijin Cloak of Invisibility.
Given the above, it is a continuing miracle that Japan has turned out (and continues to turn out) some wonderful driving sports cars. |
