Nissan has 3 cars entered for the June race.

They will run 2 of the 3 cars for the entire FIA WEC race season, starting with Silverstone in April.

I dunno, I kind of see it the opposite way. The Nissan and nismo heritage in particular has never been about making fun cars or making good purist sports cars, but they've always bucked the trend. The way I see it, Nismo is more about making cars that twist rules and think outside of the box and win on the race track. They really "play to win"

I'm pretty excited to see how this does, and I hope it is ridiculously fast and make people rethink the rules.

CVTs in everything, no affordable sports car and no interest in making one. Nissan believes its own bullshit.

-ERS consisting of a 16lb flywheel spinning at 52,000 rpm in a vacuum.
-5 speed transmission in front of the engine.
-Series of tunnels that move air from the front to the rear through the car.

Very cool indeed. Last or first, won't matter.. This is the most interested I've been in WEC and Le Mans hasn't even happened yet.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Mr. rice_classic, Sir. I love seeing things like this, DeltaWing, etc. competing at such a high level. I don't typically cheer for Nismo, but would like to see this do well and think it'll be interesting to watch.

Image is blurry, but apparently the car has both a "Nismo" and "Godzilla" button. I'm really hoping the latter shoots radioactive rays out the front of the car.

I tell you what, I admire the likes of the Rebellion Racing team. Year after year they duke it out with the big boys of the sport and yet they keep coming back for more in the P1 class!
