I hadn't seen a pic of an install into an FRS without a power mirror yet, so here's what that would look like. Snapped a pic before putting it all back in.

Are the auto-dimming wires that you tapped into connected to a fuse? Should I get a raw invisicord or one that comes with an inline fuse?

I just got my invisicord and tried to do this today, but found out the male harness I needed to plug into is on the auto dimming mirror wire. I don't have an auto dimming mirror, so I spent 10 minutes searching for something that was not there. I have the female connecting harness up there but don't have a way to just plug and play the invisicord without using t-taps or splicing. Can I just buy one of they male connectors without actually getting an auto dimming mirror so i can just plug my invisicord into it?

Edit: I had to do a lot of digging, but I finally found the wire harness. If anyone with a non-powered mirror wants to do this mod without t-taps or splicing (and simply plugging in an invisicord or something similar), you can buy the wire harness that connects to the empty connector. The part number is H501SAJ010. My local dealership had to special order it.

Did you have to do any splicing like @TM mentioned?

No splicing at all. It was complete plug and play.

I am NOT responsible for any modification you do to your own car! I am just showing how I modified mine

First off you need to order a product called 'Invisicord' - http://www.invisicord.com/order.html (Check the installation page to see if your radar detector is supported). I ordered a 12" cable without fuse which I thought would be long enough but it barely was. I would highly recommend ordering at least a 16" cable.
I'm looking at this right now, want to wire an Escort 9500ix. Do I need this:

#S01PL - Standard Invisicords (w/Length and Fuse Options)

Or this:

#N01PL - Micro Version Invisicords (w/Length and Fuse Options)

A little different, but here is my 9500ix stealth install. Need to redo the bezel as I scratched it right when I was wrapping the install up.

Just followed this write up. Made my own invisicord by using pins out of a DB9 serial plug. Chopped my radar's power cord in half and soldered on the pins, heat shrinked everything, made it look nice and neat, then followed the writeup.

I did this with a Cobra iRadar. Turned out great!
