That's what I'm doing come Saturday at 10am! Just walk in, take a look around the car, start it up, then sign the papers. I only went on one test drive a month ago. 39 hours to go! |

Yes the interior is cheap. It's a scion. But I could give a fuck less. My last car was BMW with red leather seats. It looked awesome. But then I realized I don't really spend much time looking at my seats when I'm driving. It only looks good for the 2 seconds when I first open my door, after that I don't care. Driving a luxury car made me realize, I don't care that much about luxury lol. Sure its nice to have, but it doesn't get my adrenaline pumping.
I know most people could never go back to driving a cheaper japanese import after driving a european car. But then most people don't drive the way I do. Everyone else wants a comfortable relaxing and quiet ride from A to B. I wanna feel the rush and luxury doesn't do that Now I'm not saying the bimmer can't get my blood flowing at all. I had my fun in that car too, but it still wasn't as fun as my FRS. It's really hard to beat the driving feel on this car. It sits so damn low and the stock suspension already feels like its on coilovers. I fell in love the first day I test drove it. The engine doesn't have VTEC scream of my old honda, but it still revs nice and high. It will pick up a few girls less than the BMW but that's ok, those are just the gold diggers anyway. This is a great fucking car for the money

Exactly. You think you are buying a reliable car from a reliable company, and then you realize it's complete junk. How was I supposed to gauge how bad the car is from a couple test drives. Haters gonna hate, I guess some people just hold toyota/subaru to a lower standard than I do.

I may never understand why people escalate a conversation based around individual opinions into conflict?????
That said I would concede much of the quality issues: tail light condensation, crappy sound system, wet window squeak, etc etc etc. But I don't care because comfort and refinement were not on my attribute list for buying this car. But that is MY LIST not everyone else's. Personally I have sold off some other cars that most would consider superior but kept the FRS and will probably make it a dedicated track car at some point. Those other cars failed to hit that special nerve where you absolutely love to drive them and no longer notice the flaws.

Doesn't make me less curious
I'm starting to lean towards T "Canadians are Eh'holes" Coat's opinion.

Flaws such as a cheap interior, shitty paint, bad sound system, shitty headunit (no problem with the stock one in my '15 to be honest, I don't mind the speakers either), creaks and rattles, lots of road noise?
Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to any of that, I was too busy looking out my windshield while taking corners at twice the posted speed limit with a big ol' shit eating grin on my face. |

Also holy cow you live in Visalia. You should come down to Bakersfield C&C and hang out with the rest of the FR-S owners. There are two NSX owners here that I'm sure you'd love to meet as well. First one's on me! Also that way we can see what you actually drive. I'm curious now. I've never seen a photo or build log from you, and you only have a handful of posts referencing your FR-S/BRZ. Also, since you're being level headed and we're all fanboys, What would you recommend for a new 2015-2016 car under 30K? Also what would you recommend used? I'm doubly curious.
