There is a lot of slop in all the 19mm sockets I tried on the lug nuts. I'm concerned if the lug nuts are ever over tightened that the lug nut may get rounded when trying to loosen them. Have you guys experienced this. Should I be concerned? Any tricks I can do to tighten the socket to lug nut fit?

Stock lugs or aftermarket? Is it possible they are aftermarket and need a key not just a 19mm.

Have you tried a different 19mm socket to see if it is your socket? 12pt or 6pt

Are you using impact sockets or regular? My impacts fit just a tad looser.. if you look at them closely, you'll see that each of the six faces has a slight curve to it.

Most specs say the wrench should be .20mm larger than the nut/bolt. A nut/bolt on the low end of the tolerance, and a wrench on the high end, would have more slop.

brand of wrench will cause the tolerance(ie quality) to vary too.

ASME, DIN, SAE, JIS, etc., they can all vary a bit.

It's to move the point of contact more on the flat edge of the nut and away from the corners to prevent rounding.

If you're really concerned about it, buy a decent brand name socket. As already mentioned, they grab the flats of the nut rather than the corners. They will also be made out of harder material (less flex) and to a tighter tolerance. Some good tool brands are SK, Snap-on, Armstrong, Wright. There are more, those are just a few examples.

I didn't have to use the impact wrench. I just extended the 19MM drive socket wrench to get leverage and they came right off my wife's forester which has the same lug nut size as the 86.
