Transmission or Clutch Taking a dying?

I have 120k miles on my car.
Here's what happens:
I have an Exedy Stage 2 Clutch. About 10k miles in, I started having issues with getting locked out of 1st gear from a launch, but would shift smooth while driving normally and hard driving. Now the more miles I place on the clutch, it is becoming increasingly hard to shift through the gate under full throttle redline shifting. And when I shift sometimes, I'm either locked out of shifting from let's say, 2nd to 3rd gear, or I grind gears or sychros. This never happened earlier.
When I shift under normal driving conditions, the shifting is ok.

Now I'm trying to figure out, are the sychros/gears going bad, or is my clutch not completely deactivating when I push in the clutch. Also, since I installed the clutch, it has a rather low catch point but the grinding and lockouts from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th etc just started recently.

Which Exedy Stg2 kit did you install? The older Stg2 kits exhibited this issue. They revised them to correct this issue.

Bought mines i think Feb. 2015. Not sure when they revised.

Did it include a lightweight flywheel or just clutch assembly?

It had the light weight flywheel.

I recently installed an aftermarket clutch with lightweight flywheel as well, and had the same clutch not disengaging issue. I adjusted the clutch pedal slight higher to get more travel and that fixed the issue.

You have the older style of the clutch assembly. I recommend contacting exedy to initiate a clutch inspection. I sent mine in recently and received the revised clutch assembly under warranty.

I heard the opposite, though I have not confirmed it. I have read that the gears in the transmission are at extremely close tolerances and that is what causes shifting issues when the transmission is not properly warmed up due to the expansion and shrinking of the metals when cold and hot. better fluid helps this problem.

though, I have also read that the stock clutch fork sucks when paired with aftermarket clutches and is prone to breaking.

I still recommend you change your transmission and diff fluid to the Motul though since it is generally approved by many people on these forums. I changed mine at 4k miles and I am currently at 14k with no shifting problems.
