But this is like the 40th time I've explained this.
To be clear, at no point throughout this was I recommending cruising at high RPMs. I cruise at 3,000 (except when doing 70+ of course) and my average gauge has been pinned steadily at 35 MPG which I reduce for error to 32 for over two years now. This is mostly due to the fact that I spend 98% of my driving time on cruise control on the highway. The 2% that I do get to play doesn't have enough impact to change that reading.

My average mpg has never read over 24mpg since I got the car. '13 with 25k miles.

Wow.. I drive an hour to work and an hour home in stop and go... mostly stop and I'm not even close to that bad. My car mostly sits on weekend because I have a large family so we use the Suburban. So my car spends 99% of its time in this shit commute to and from work.

OOOPs! That is what I meant I just had 91 on the brain. The 91 is usually 20 cents and the 94 30 cents

Of course! Why would you want to put extra wear on your engine?

I really need to go to a local meet and ride in some other cars because I just can't imagine voluntarily cruising at 3K. It just sounds so bad. There has to be something not right on my car. I just cringe at the sound. At higher speeds it's not so bad because the rest of the noises drown it out. But at lower speeds like say 45 it's intolerable.

Stock. I got the car used with 80K so I have no real reference. There were a ton of twins at the autox I did a few months ago but all of them had exhaust so it was hard to compare.

Full throttle pulls to red line it sounds great though. It's just cruising or light exceleration where it sounds like a rod wants to go through the block.

If your OEM noise generator is in place, you could try removing it.

Ok, I'm going to blow minds here with this... but hear me out.

You are going to damage your vehicle in other ways besides the engine components when you constantly cruise at higher RPM than what is necessary.

While i can't out science the science guys here, I can just state facts and be right about things!

So what if I told you that these smart people who are telling us that our cylinder walls will be spared from the torture of the extra RPM's are right.. But it's still not recommended (And they are all fully aware of this). Would you all believe me? Can we all pretend we were correct all along and move on? (Probably not, because the people here who are basing everything on their feelings will never concede to actual facts being presented)

Sound can be subjective and each person perceive it differently but to my ear that is the sweet spot with the TRD exhaust. Can't hear the engine at all really. The only time the engine noises bother me are at idle since it always sounds ready to blow something up.

You are late to the party. We seem to over that debate.

I am interested in what else besides the engine you feel would be damaged at high RPMs though.
