Isn't this a hybrid? Please toyota, no ev86. Kill the platform entirely first, for the sake of dignity. Plus, it sits too low to run over kids forming human road blocks.

The biggest surprise in Raiti's video is it turns out he actually does own a pair of pants. There must have been a restriction at the show on wearing shorts.

No shorts?
Gotta zonk him on that one!

I must agree with the long snout....that seemed to differentiate the Prelude from the other cars in the lineup.
I think one generation of Prelude had accord like headlights (the one before the squared off headlights i think?) but it was still a long hood car.

This EV...looks almost generic. thats why i think it just looks like what an Accord coupe would look like.

Bottom line, this is as much a Prelude as a Mach E is a Mustang, and a Maverick is a small pickup truck. "Hey we got this name people recognize, to hell with it's legacy lets just use it for marketing purposes"

Well to be fair the Prelude was always a 2 door coupe (as far as i know), its just wasnt a derivative one like this one looks to be.

Its similar to Toyota making the 2 door Camry and calling it the Solara....except I dont think they really pretended it was much more than a 2 door camry with a swoopier body.

I don't see how anyone could find similarities between what's being done here and what Ford did to the Mustang by slapping it's name on something that it shared literally nothing with except 4 tires.

Well, it's only an opinion, but it really doesn't look that different to me. This could just as easily be a Civic or an Accord vs a Prelude.

Yea, I know I was moaning above but I actually do like it. It's one of the better looking Hondas they've shown in a while.

I dig this. It's definitely a step in the right direction. I'm on record for thinking Toyota should bring back the Celica as a 2-door Prius, and this Prelude is basically that (which is somewhat appropriate considering the Prelude was the Celica's chief rival).

Unsolicited history but they canceled the 2 door Camry coupe in the US to replace it with the Solara. It was the first car designed solely by Toyota's Calty Design Studio specifically for the US market and was supposed to be a bit of a throwback to the larger US 2 door coupes like the GM G-bodies or the 9th/10th gen Thunderbird... Of course it still really just is a Camry underneath (or with the V6, the poor man's SC300).

Yep, don’t like this at all. In addition to looking really big it seems unnecessarily tall.

It almost looks like they’ve tried to mimic the recently departed NSX’s lines in the rear, but it doesn’t work at all with this car’s mundane, tall, Accord-like dimensions.

Call me old fashioned but I think a proper ‘coupe’ should retain a low hip point and roof height. It should feel a little ‘racecar’ with your bum just above the road, not like you’re sitting in a two-door crossover.

But that’s just me, apparently the buying public have embraced the growth outwards and upwards of vehicles.

I'm not saying they are the same dimensions, shape, weight, specs, etc, but I'm just saying the size doesn't look terrible, nor does the shape. There may be some potential.
