Chris Harvey autocrossed the ND back to back against his well prepped NC, both on Rival S tires. I think the results will be in GRM soon. Won't be apples to apples but it'll give a good indication of the car's potential. If bone stock it's faster than the NC, we have a small chance it goes to BS. If they're anywhere close to being on parity, forget it.

Keep in mind that Harvey's NC has baller double adjustable Koni's with added compression. Anyone running OEM or single adjustable shocks in the NC has had essentially zero success in CS.

Meh. My point is I'm not sticking around if the car can't win, and that means I deploy my time and money somewhere else. It doesn't have to be autocross. I spent the better part of a decade driving a ridiculous underdog car and I'm done with that.

Are they Koni or Penske? I know Chris Fenter is a big Penske fan and had them on his MS-R. He knows how to set them up and re-valve them himself. That car is certainly an anomaly being very well setup and driven by very good drivers. Bump stop tuning is also important on those cars as they have almost no suspension travel...

In the track picture I saw of the ND it looked pretty floppy.

I'm trying to get setup with some lighter/nice 16"s running a wider track but haven't been able to find much of anything. I saw someone suggest RPF1's but I'm not sure that's within the legal 7mm from stock rules. So do you guys know of a good 16" to run and also do you think a slightly wider track has helped at all.

We'll see. I don't think they will bury the car but most of the reviews coming out are the club version.

Will definitely be exciting to see what plays out and see your new car Laloosh at the next NNJR event!

Doesn't SCCA has a tendency to put performance models in a higher class. S2k and CR, C5 and C5 Z06, 370z and Nismo 370z?

Also, does anyone have the gear ratios for the new miata? I found the the ones for the japanese 1.5L. If they don't change them for the 2.0L, 2nd gear seems to top out at 56-59mph depending on redline. That sounds troublesome for autox. Maybe that's just me though.

2016 Mazda MX-5
gear ratios
Manual
1 5.087
2 2.991
3 2.035
4 1.594
5 1.286
6 1.000
Final 2.866

They do have to shift into 3rd to make it to 60mph but still do it in 5.8-5.9 according to C&D and MT.

2014 San Diego National Tour was won by an NC on single adjustable Konis, beating Jeff Stuart in his 370Z. So I wouldn't say they're required, but they do help.

I think those are the ratios for the 1.5L in Japan as it came out from the Japanese Brochure. Not sure if this will be what it gets in US, but I don't see why not.

While shifting to third is fine for 0-60, I feel that on an autocross course it may be more of a hassle.

SD lot is just odd. What works for there will not work for anywhere else.
Typically for SD, the softer the suspension the better...think it has to due with the low grip and bumpy surface

It's progressing to the point of all courses are the same because of all the breakup. We've patched parts of the lot ourselves. This last weekend we pitted at the top of the lot and the course ran down to the bottom. The whole CS class is chasing Scott Lewis, the only time he's been beat locally was Lugod in your car by .004. My goal this year is to finish really close to him, I took 2nd by .027 at the last event, but he laid down a run 1.8 seconds quicker so the rest of us have work to do. RE71R's should be in this week, may have to hit El Toro on the 21st and try my luck there.

Haha! Yeah, we were on Dunlops then, too!

Are we still updating the initial post?
C-Street can now have 16", 17" or 18" wheels and an offset within 7mm of original spec, meaning 41-55mm. Spacers are allowed to bring offset back within spec.
Wheel width must remain the same.
Please update
