I dont know what book time is but I did mine on the monster in 40 minutes. In fact if I cant borrow a trailer again ill just swap my injectors in the parkinglot next to my tuners shop and play it off like I trailered it there again like a boss.

Because we take up to 4 hours to swap them. We do not "rush" work and we follow all install procedures. We individually test operation of each injector prior to install, we clean the manifold seats as well as the rail, we replace all o-rings and seals (and grease them), we pressure test prior to start up, we replace the blast shields, etc. There is a lot of liability involved in changing fuel related components. Anyone seen a car-b-q? $335 is our standard shop rate for top feed injector installs on EJ255's and 257's so we kept it for FRS/BRZ. Real question is how do we get customers to pay $450 like Mann?

I did all of that when I installed mine short of testing each injector, didn't take 4hrs

Its a standard shop rate for us. No one said it was by the hour, I said we can take up to 4 hours. We do not perform work per "book" as ther is no "book rate" for much of what we do.

We are obviously charging too little if Mann is getting $450.

Mann wants $450 to swap the fuel injectors to stock, so I'm going to bug Bill for a map so I can swap the injectors myself before going to Mann.
Keep bugging. I am finally starting to get myself into my new facility and will start getting updates out to everyone.

As for the injectors, we have been able to get a perfect idle, perfect acceleration, blips and basically perfect function out of larger injectors even on pure speed density but the only problem we currently have is the harsh start which I am still working on correcting. I believe it to be related to just too much fuel as jamesm has eluded to, as the same exact tune on OEM injectors start perfect every time. Makes me think it is an enrichment and low RPM low load mapping error on startup. But we are still working that out.

We did tune a Full Blown kit yesterday with Bosch EV14 1000cc injectors and have to say I prefer these over everything else so far. A very clean and crisp response from these injectors. Makes tuning a little easier and I would expect nothing less from Bosch. Definitely recommended if going larger injectors.

Cheers,

FYI, we are hoping to get going on your car today. Now that the small updates have been addressed on your prototype MAP Turbo kit we will get to spend a little time on it today.

How harsh was the start on the car (with a working o2 sensor )? No pumping the gas to get it running right?

I'm still having mixed feelings about going back to stock injectors. Besides the cost of swapping, I don't want to tune the car to near 100% PI duty cycle and not hit my goals of around 400whp on 91.

Fbm did 425 on Canadian 91 which is like 89 + maple syrup mixed in (instead of 10% ethanol )

PTE turbo, not sure how its size compares to the GTX3076R. It was 353 on a GT2871R, so I assume the bigger turbo can get me around 400 (dynojet)
