Heated Windshield Wipers?
Are the windshield wiper blades heated on the BRZ Limited? I think I remember the salesman saying something about that when I bought the car.
I wonder if that means the replacement wiper blades are more spendy than others. Or maybe I just misheard him because I haven't been able to tell if they are or not. Thanks! |

"Heated windshield wipers" doesn't mean the actual wipers are heated. That feature (found on other Subarus, which makes your question totally legitimate) usually incorporates a heating element on the windshield where the wipers are parked. That element (very similar to the one that heats/defogs your rear window) would turn on whenever you heat your mirrors/rear window.
AFAIK, No North American BRZ comes with heated wipers. If they were, with wiper blade replacement would cost the same since its actually the glass it sits on that's heated.

WTF? Sorry… I didn't know so I asked. Perhaps this forum isn't the place to ask questions like this?
@Llitith Sorry wasn't clear! That wasn't aimed at you but at the fact a sales person told you it!

LOLZ...nothing is worse than a Service Manager talking about how great the car must handle in the snow because it's AWD. No wonder why my car was so completely scratched up that a compounding couldn't take all the scratches out.

Sales people need to tell customers the right thing but too many of them don't seem to have a clue. I can see it when the car was new but they have plenty of time to get their facts straight by now.

My salesman told me that my BRZ would make me younger, more handsome and get rid of my love handles. After a month of driving it, I'm starting to think he was just telling me what I wanted to hear....

Well see you should have got a lowered Lava FRS since my love handles are getting smaller just climbing in and out and I certainly feel younger with everybody staring at me all the time! (Figure they feel sorry for the old dude that had to borrow his grandson's car)

Makes for a much more expensive windshield replacement, though. Trust me, I know. Lol. (My former vehicle was a 1998 Outback.)

Why would they call it heated windshield 'wipers' if the windshield is heated and not the wipers. My truck had a heated windshield washer, which was a nice feature, until they decided it recall it so they could yank it out (which I never did).
I have the impression the because the BRZ is a cheap bastard child (no offence lol) and does not sell much, most Subaru dealers are clueless. People that shop for a Subaru are quite different compared to people that shop for one of the twins. |
