Keep in mind, that while bite and performance frequently go hand in hand, one is not required for the other. Try W3 for street use, and W5 for the track. Or W5 full time like many other full-time race pad users here. Keep in mind you'll need to bed the W5 properly to keep them quiet for street use. |

Had them on my previous car (lighter and less powerful than BRZ) and they worked street and track. I had fade when using them with my BRZ and Sprint kit.

While it sounds like a pad I could potentially use as a dual purpose pad, I have to think there are other drawbacks (i.e. cost, rotor wear, noise, dust, availability, etc.) that would make using that one pad less appealing to me than more purpose-specific pads. Regardless, I am curious. |

The big brake kit should keep the brakes cooler than the stock brake system. The car isn't any heavier and isnt putting any extra heat into the brakes. It should be less likely to fade. Unless the driver drove harder/longer knowing they had a BBK.

I disagree. With sticky tires on track one can put WAY more heat into the brakes. I have a BRZ with no power or aero modifications and an AP Sprint kit with DTC-60s and sometimes I feel like I'm nearing the limit of those pads.

- Cooling capacity (surface area and airflow) is increased with most BBKs. Most BBKs have more surface area via increased rotor thickness and more vanes. - Thermal capacity (rotor mass) is decreased with most BBKs. The brake rotor is a heat sink that absorbs the kinetic energy which is turned into heat under braking. The rotor absorbs the heat from the pads, and then releases it into the air. If you have less rotor mass, the same amount of energy (heat) is still going into the rotor, so you actually run the rotors *hotter* Almost every BBK for this platform increases cooling, but decreases thermal capacity. You don't see increased thermal capacity until you get to to 325mm 1 piece rotor BBKs, or 355mm 2 piece rotor BBKs. Any BBK that advertises weight reduction, is a decrease in thermal capacity. You have to find a balance between cooling and thermal that is right for you. |

Literally a flat torque curve from 0C-1200C. 0.02μ variance over the entire temperature range
Selection of desired torque in 0.05μ increments, so you can fine tune exactly how much bite and friction you have. Additionally, release friction is linear with pressure, not just application pressure, so you can trail brake precisely. All in all, it leads to a 100% predictable, 100% consistent pedal, so that you can brake at threshold every time, with absolute confidence. Additionally, you can do some gnarly things like braking mid-corner to slow down, and precisely control the rotation! |
