Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 GT86 General Forum The place to start for the Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 | GT86 |
View Poll Results: If Toyota made a convertible FR-S for the US, would you buy one?
No I like coupe version of the FR-S better. | 133 | 39.82%
Yes I think it looks great; plus a soft top should help keep the weight and price down. | 44 | 13.17%
Maybe, could we get a hardtop convertible as well like what Mazda does with its MX-5 Miata. | 67 | 20.06%
No I personally wouldn't want one because I already have a coupe, but would like it built for others. | 90 | 26.95%

Don't lie, you want that trunk integrated 3rd brake light. I want that trunk. The horrifyingly placed 3rd brake on the hard top is well... horrifyingly placed.

I only wish the small windows went down on the hard top, but, the extra pillar adds rigidity. Looks much better than the 350Z did with the top up. You do lose the aerodynamics of the hard top. Plus gain extra weight.

if i am not remembering wrong, toyota declared that they wont do a convertible gt86. i guess they betrayed to gt86 owners. in the other hand the ft86 open looks stunningly awesome. i am just so unhappy for this betrayel cause i coul wait more to get one.
by the way here in Turkey i paid 52k euros for my gt86. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Toyota did not betray anyone....I had a chance to be the first to get the FRS/GT86 last year, but decided to wait, figured they will come out with the Convertible and Super Charger since they want to compete with Mazda.

Just an idea, just an idea... LOL... I had a Saab 9-5 that had a "parchment" (super light almost white color) interior that was all black, except for the seats and the trim panels on the middle of the door panel. I loved this look. I can imagine it in the FRS... white seats, white trim panel, black everything else. See attached.
