Velox Camber Plates Clunking noise
Does any with similar suspension set like mine Ohlins and Velox camber plates clunking noise over bumps?
Just to confirmed that it is not the coilovers that making the noise. With the stock top mount it does not make the noise. Been disassemble and reassemble numerous of times to figure the issue but could not understand why the camber plates is making that noise. My suspecting is the spherical bearings are the fault but this plates are brand new and does not even have more the 100km on it. If anyone having the same issue please share. Thank You. Yup that sounds like a bad spherical bearing. The bearing itself is moving vertically in its housing by mere mms but it makes a ton of noise.
My camber plates lasted 80k miles before failure, so if you don’t have have 60 miles on them I’d send them back. |

I contact ft86speedfactory but they said they can't see any movement to the bearings so they can't do warranty on it . It's just sad cause that plates are brand new and the bearings already failed on it. Your camber plate is velox as well?

Rule out the swaybar endlinks being loose before spending money imho but it's probably one of the two.

Have you verified that the nut on the top of the shock shaft is fully and properly torqued? In my opinion it’s highly unlikely that the bearing has failed on an virtually new piece, but if the nut is not properly toqued and you continue to drive on it you will damage it.

You're welcome to send them back to us so we can look at them but they are the same bearings we have used for the entire life of this product. We have not been engraving the camber plates "Velox" for at least 9 months as well. Diagnosing the noise or what is happening through youtube videos is impossible.
The camber plates are very simple parts; there is not much to make noise. Keep in mind with the OEM top hat, the rubber isolates and damps a lot of noise that could have already been there; but does not make its way to the cabin as the connection is not solid. When you swap to something that is solid aluminum with no compliance spherical bearings, noises are translated to the chassis significantly more. Feel free to e-mail us if you want to take us up on the offer of sending them back to us. We'll check the bearings for movement and we can install brand new bearings if you'd like. Thanks, Eric |

I have a set of MP20's with what appear to be MSI camber plates that were pre-installed on the struts when I bought the units. They were 6 months old and lightly used.
I get a lot of clunk, especially on the driver side. My suspicion is I will probably need to replace bushings in the top mounts to fixs this but I won't mess with that stuff until the car is off the road for winter. Some play between ball and bushings. So long as it isnt unsafe or affect performance I will live with it. Also get creaking in same area sometimes when I turn steering wheel far to one side and or go over really steep grades or bumps. Probably bushings on spherical bearing can be replaced.
