I'm not going STX or any other class with it. BTDT, not doing it again. There are several STX ones around here that I can drive when I get the itch anyway

I feel pretty strongly that 370Z will beat a BRZ at least most of the time given the same driver. The difference was too great last weekend for me. I don't have a local CS RX8 to compare with, so I don't know how it would stack up to either car. Not saying BRZ/FR-S isn't in the mix for a good showing, but I'd be surprised if it could win at nats. I'd probably codrive in the 370Z given the choice.

But yeah, I wouldn't dismiss it from CS just yet.
I would love to run in STX but some things stop me. Number one, the biggie, is the minimum of $8000 to even think about running competitively. I don't have that kind of cash to do so sadly. Full exhaust tune, GC sleeves or going KW, camber plates, wheels, tires, rear control arms or bushings are needed to begin thinking about it I believe. If I did change, it would be to a cheaper, used car, not new again, where I'd likely save money lol

We don't have many fendered national competitors around our region, not ones with prepped cars. They usually codrive others. the ones that own their only are mostly Mod car(t)s.

Depending on what happens at Nats, I'm not sure I see the 370Z staying in CS. This year is really an experiment with the 370Z to see whether it's hampered by putting power down on street tires. On race tires, it's obviously as fast as the cars that were moved to BS this year. Talking to one SAC guy it was one of the tougher decisions leaving it in CS.

I also don't think the SCCA is going to let the FR-S/BRZ go long without a competitive stock class.

...so how about that FR-S taking first place today over the 370?

No, they were spanking both of us. Awesome runs btw.

Don't want to thread jack but here are my runs from both days. I was the guy in the BRZ. Day 1 was just atrocious driving by me.

Thanks John, felt really good to turn in two fast runs at the end. After wasting my two semi-fast runs Saturday morning with red lights, and then not being able to do anything in the heat on Saturday afternoon, the car was fantastic Sunday morning. Figured out the line just in time!

It would have been nice if Andy's RX-8 hadn't of had issues Friday so that we could of had a solid three way comparison for the event. On the note of wishing, I also wish I hadn't drawn Madarash for the Super Challenge! I actually was hanging on to a lead after one side, only to choke it away on the second side. Oh well. I'll have some video and data later this week I think, Andy recorded data all Sunday.

I ran the BRZ yesterday with a couple of adjustments. I have been having too much understeer for the last several events, so I went in and cut the front bump stops down by around an inch off of the thick end to hopefully ensure that they were not affecting the front end under braking or during cornering (thanks to 7thgear for forcing me to think about this one further). I also began playing with lower front pressures. I feel like the car was maybe slightly better at this event, but the results really didn't show any difference. In the end, I was at 34PSI all around. I finished 6th in X class (@0.65 PAX seconds out), 16th in PAX (including those cheating double entries).

I've also just ordered a set of 245 RS3V2's to see if they work any better.

I'm ordering them as well but going with 225s since I'll be daily driving them also. I don't know if 235 would be too much pinch on the 7" wheel.

If I was planning to DD, I'd get 225's as well.

I'm running CSR on Kumho V710 but I want a tire to DD on and autocross on when I get lazy and want to drive to a far away event lol.
