I find it a bit annoying that they've opened up the order banks without a firm MSRP. It's a mass produced Subaru, not a Ferrari.

i wonder what they'll do if they price it high, people cancel orders, and then no one is buying.

I'll get one as soon as I can get invoice + TTL and/or special financing like 0.9%/60months etc.

EDIT: I might have to wait for the convertible version(high spec) and then grab a cheap used low spec FRS for fun/tracking.

There won't be a convertible version.

Not a BRZ, but an 86/GT86=FRS is planned by Tada. Check the Scion threads. But you're right about Subaru maybe not releasing a convertible version.

But to me GT86=FRS=BRZ so I'd want a droptop with BRZ luxuries since we know Scion doesnt offer anything luxurious. Here's to hoping *crosses fingers*. I want a brand new age S2000 with amenities. This the car that seems to come close.

I fall under the '15+ category since I will not be able to afford a new car withing the next 2- maybe 3 years. I'm waiting until I go through school and have a good stable job before I even consider a move such as buying a new car.

I envy all of you who can go out and buy it now without worries, and I hope you will enjoy them!

I initially wanted to get mine after launch, but because I got a job out of the country coming up in the summer. Which I may be there for the rest of the year, it looks like I'll have to come back and get it next year. Which I think would make it a 2014 model? So that's what I voted.

a few months ago I would've been "during launch" but lately I have moved solidly into the "not sure if I want one" category. It's an ok car, but doesn't seem worth the effort they are making us go through to get one. If they are readily available come July or August, and I can get a decent deal on one, I might get one, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. If I'm going to wait until next year anyways, I will just wait for a more powerful version, or maybe the next WRX.

I actually went to a dealership yesterday and asked about the BRZ, how many they were getting, if they had any preorders, if they knew the price, etc. The guys said they didn't know any more than I did and took my email and said they'd let me know when they heard anything. There shouldn't be this much confusion so close to launch, especially not on a car that has been in the oven for what seems like forever. The 2012 Impreza was announced in concept form in late 2010, the production model was displayed at NY in April 2011, you could order it in July/August 2011, and they showed up at dealerships in November, despite the earthquake affected production. The car went through the whole process from concept to delivery in the time it took them to go from concept car 1 to concept car 2 for the BRZ.

Fair enough, but recall that this car is tied up in TWO companies, one of which WAS the largest automaker in the world a few years ago. Thus more red tape!

Another FC owner! sup?

I'm planning to get mine ASAP, so whenever the dealer gets it in. I'd prefer to get it around Sept-Oct, but sooner or later is cool too. Gonna head to the local dealer in a few hours and see whats up.
