And @Guff

You guys helped me last time, lets give it another shot!

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...31774749&Log=0

and

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...Index=13&Log=0

Over the Miata, end up paying less than ~$190/month for 5 years

Pretty good idea, and good first car. According to my friends, I have no problem riding clutches, just ridding smooth off 1st so a beater isnt really neccesary (Miata). Plus I like roofs

What you guys thank?

Okay, sooooo, I haven't driven a 350Z, but from my research I will say a few things.

1. ^^^These cars are on nasty wheels. Nasty wheels = owned by poseur ricer man and/or 17 year old kid. This means abuse. Lots of it.

2. Private dealer, these guys are looking to shaft you at every corner. I suggest looking at private party. Forums are the best place.

3. From my extensive research (read: not very extensive) I think the only major issue is clutches, which like to get stuck apparently in these cars. Not sure what the long term fix is. (Throwout Bearing? Pressure Plate? Clutch? Who knows?)

4. Apparently the blind spot is bad.

5. It's a good GT cruiser and theres lots of aftermarket, although the VQ35 can't be taken too far from stock numbers without going all out.

Not a bad car choice! I prefer the Miata, but this is certainly more practical. I would move away from Autotrader and stuff though and start looking at forums because that is where you can find honest people who (usually) aren't trying to screw you. Plus, you can often find better prices. Although, Autotrader and Cars.com can still be very useful tools...

Also, for 12k, you might be able to find a Jewel of an NA 5-Speed MKIV Supra. What say you to that? It'll be a bit of a search though.

I doubt I will base my buy off autotrader. I am just looking around to see what are the averages in price around my area. Also, whats the best 350z forums 'round here?

And I've looked up SupraForums and its hard to get one for $12k. Most private sellers are $20k+

Add: I was not aware of the clutch problem on the Z's. I'm looking for the 2007-2009 models, do these carry the same problem too?

Thanks guys! I wish $20k could fall from the sky so I can just get a BRZ and be done with it -_-

First, I don't see NISMO anywhere? So that's a quick no from me. Second if I had to choose one of them. It be the one with the black wheels that has lower mileage and slightly lower cost, which probably means you won't get some of the premium accessories from the other Z. Granted these cars are not the worst cars out there on the market. Though past owners I've known had given up on them to switch to S2k's or MR's.

And @Guff, I hope you were just joking?

What these guys said. That's a significant jump in maintenance and overall cost going from a NA Miata to a 350z. Considering that and if you've got the money to burn, I'd say yeah. $12k sounds about right. Just remember that the 350z is a Grand Touring car, meaning less harsh, less communicative, and more focus on comforts than a Miata.

Honestly I was looking at RX-8's prices just yesterday. Which is another high maintenance sports car.Name: baller.gif
