Personally not a big fan of the gaping mouth+mouth guard look. It does, however, reminds me of c7,which imo are great looking cars.

Less is more. It looks easier to wash. That's a plus for me.

I think something similar to this only without the "top" grill.

if anything it'll have that glossy stache Toyota's been giving to the Camry and Corolla as of late

Just because its a couple year old concept doesn't mean the designers haven't been planning on using that same inspiration/material for the midcycle facelift.
You know, you're right. The 86, as it looks now, was actually introduced as a concept at least two years before it actually happened, so I have decided to retract my withdrawal into hiding. Just saying, this, to me anyway, looks like more of a natural progression, rather than a complete overhaul of a beautiful car, which is probably what would happen anyway. Most cars get gradual updates that reflect the previous generation. Unless we're talking Mustang or Camaro which took 40 years before the carmakers figured it out. I love the look of the 86 and would hope that Toyota and Subaru would be smart enough to not alienate their base while providing something new and enticing to potential new customers. Just my 2 cents worth. At any rate, if anybody needs a rock to hide under, my old one is available. I only ask a completely unreasonable finder's fee.
