Well sure. The point was I wish it came that way. "Just swap out the gearing" is easier said than done.

I think you're the first person I've seen to request the 86 platform actually be "slower".

The taller final drives are actually pretty popular with the turbo guys. I looked at it too for my LS1. But the turbo guys want to stay in boost longer and I want to mitigate torque (cuz I have way too much now lol). I would like better gas mileage though. No idea what I get now but my wallet says it's not enough

Eh. Sixth gear is meant for cruising. Even as it's currently ratio'd it's not going to make the difference in ANY race, which is why it really never made sense to have it so short.

When I drive without rapid accelerations, about 70 mph on the freeway, and keeping the engine below 4000 RPM, or drive without using any more power than a Corolla could have, I get 30-31 mpg, which is about the same as a Corolla or Golf R and better than Type R. When I want it though, there is much more power to use.

Never dropped below 25 mpg. Even when i first got my supercharger and was driving like an asshole i was at about 26 mpg.

Mostly highway helps of course. I do get about 20 minutes of stop and go though. Changing from the stock eco tires dropped me 2mpg.

Not accurate. I easily get 31 mpg in my Type-R.

That is one of the benefits of the Michelin Primacys, most other tires will lose some mpg. But dry handling, stopping distance, and wet weather handling are probably more important.

Shit with E85, SC with boost and sticky tires my mileage has gone to shit but I don't travel very far + 2.89-2.99 for race gas is cheap. Race car FTW

I think the MPG for a 200hp 2.0 Liter AT was pretty low. I think I averaged like 20-22 MPG once I switched off the Primacy to AS3+ and Michelin PS4S. With stock tires I was getting closer to like 24-25 MPG.

In my F82 M4 DCT with a 3.0 I6 Twin Turbo with 425HP with MPSS, I'm getting 20-21 MPG if I'm spinning tires and keeping the turbos spun up with Sport+ You're talking 2X the HP with almost triple the torque lol. Driving it "elegantly" gets me around 23 MPG, so I might as well drive passionately with the the ///M.

One thing I do miss about the FRS is that I can mash the gas all the way until redline and not be breaking speed limits. On the ///M...0-100 MPH real quick....

I expected that when I changed tires as well. But the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus Tires I'm riding on (second set) are not only all-season, and ride marginally better than the Primacys but my mileage has actually gone up slightly since running on them.

Of course, you wouldn't want to take them to the track (they are touring tires) but they fit my needs.

I think that’s another of the many awesome things about the twins, you can throw just about any tires on them and it will be fun. I’m using all seasons now also, Continental DWS06 in the same size as the Primacy 215/45-17. (I think I will go with 225 width next) I have noticed a slight drop in mpg, but not much. And the handling and braking feel are much more confidence inspiring. But I also had fun running the Primacys, it’s a good tire to get a feel for the handling and chassis, and break traction easily.

Are you sticking with the same tire brand? I'm going to do some research on tires, but 225/45 seems like a solid size. Primacy tires are fun, but I'm interested in trying something with a bit more grip. Can't wait to throw them on

I've never been under like 25.5 mpg, even when I was REALLY pushing it. When I first got it and started getting used to it, I was closer to 30. I think overall it's pretty good. I have no complaints except for the small ass tank. Not a big deal and there's really no way around it for this type of car.
