How old are your wipers?
If it's more than a year they are fucked. No other way to fix it. Just buy new ones. Yeah it's a scam. That's why I now buy the cheap $8 ones every year.

My stock wipers started to fail (chatter, streak, crack etc.) 6 months after I got the car.
Currently on a nearly 2 year old set of Rain-x Latitude that are still noise free. I wipe clean and wipe them with Rain-x at every wash. They only cost a bit more than the stock wipers. I also have a Carpro Forte Flyby50 ceramic coating on my windshield... tried rain-x on the windshield glass for a while but it would barely last between washes or more than a couple of days of rain. I still use rain-x on my side glass, side mirrors and rear glass occasionaly and it holds up OK. Coating wasn't cheap but it has lasted over a year and still sheds water nicely at highway speed. |

Rainx works very well and will last several months if the glass is VERY clean and is applied and let set before cleaning off. I use brake cleaner on a rag after I have cleaned with glass cleaner. I rub the rainx into the glass with small piece of cotton. Good blades changed regularly like, rainx blades or one of the new silicone type. Life is greatly shortened with extended use of the wipers in a light mist.
I turn the wipers off at night in a light rain at speed, it is easier to see than with the wipers running. I drove from Chicago to Syracuse one night in a light rain and the only time I turned them on was in slow traffic in Cleveland. I have tried several different produces given to me at SEMA and have gone back to Rainx. In your case I have no idea what the ceramic coating would do to the effectiveness. |

I also swapped my oem blades with aftermarket bosch wiper blades and get the chattering on occasion. If it starts chattering when it rains, just clean the window and wiper blades with rain-x cleaner so there's a fresh coating on both the blades and windows so it'll wipe nice and smooth.
Or if you're lazy, just spray with wiper fluid when it rains so there's less friction when it the blade wipes the window. |

Beyond what was mentioned a good cleaning of the blade with 100% IPA.
There is also the old trick of rubbing some 2000 grit sandpaper to reveal soft rubber on the edge of blade. It could revive them if they're drying or contaminated. Maybe I'm lucky but I'm still on my OE blades after 18 months and 40k km. I originally coated the blades with rain-x and did the windshield. Then maintained with opti-seal. Now I'm also using aquapel. For the price it's hard to argue using more expensive treatments. opti-glass is on my to try list. Much like car pro flyby it lasts a year, and adds chip resistance. I wish they sold it in a smaller bottle though. Based on application instructions one bottle will last year's. Last edited by RToyo86; 10-09-2019 at 11:13 PM. |

Maybe I should get out more, but, I still have the original wiper blades on my car. They seem to work just fine after 6 years. I do wipe the blades with alcohol about once a year.
I never have put any kind of "treatment" on my windshields - it's GLASS for cryen out loud! humfrz |

Reviving this to see what blades users are running.
Recommendations and things to avoid. Ever since I aquapel'd the windshield my driver blade is leaving a streak in my field of view on the return stroke. |

OEM inserts in the stock frames. Nothing on the windshield. Like God intended.

I just replaced my wiper blades with these:
https://www.amazon.com/QUALITY-BEMOS...NsaWNrPXRydWU= I just cut them to size and slid them into the OEM wiper blade holders. You have to remove the metal strips from the originals and reuse them with the new rubbers. I got two 24 inchers because the drivers side is 22 inches and the other side is 20 inches. And the 24 inchers were available for Amazon Prime. |
