Get a set of PP wheels. I think they look great. Or you can powder coat your old wheels. I saw a guy powder coated a set of 2017 regular wheels, they look great.

For $500, u could get a set of curbed up replica rims with bad tires... I'd suggest saving up a bit more

none. you get what you pay for and $500 won't get you anything decent.

XXRs are the closest wheels to your budget. Never tried them, but a lot of members here run them without issues, even some boosted twins. I considered them for a while and they’re still on my shortlist. At $500, you’re just a couple hundred off of some decent wheels like Konigs for example. Also, just a month and a half away from Black Friday so maybe wait for a good deal on something you really want. Would also take a look at the member classifieds on here for some good deals

The cheapest decent set of wheels is around $1100 for a set MSRP. The only way to get any cheaper than that and not end up with junkers is to buy used. Most people aren't going to ship used wheels though.
If you look in the FB group I wrote a beginner's guide that has some information about wheel choices. If you're just wanting something better than stock for a budget, I'd say Enkei RPF1s or Apex ARC-8s are probably your best bet. Don't buy garbo wheels just for looks... I mean, you do you... but be warned. If you want some unique looking wheels which are also structurally sound and well made, be prepared to shell out. Any way you slice it though, $500 is not going to cut it... not even close. |

Yeah, I think you need something like 38ET to fit on stock suspension. A 5mm spacer would take care of it though.

It's a shame that they only make one size for one model. I love the entire Apex lineup and would love to see their designs on some twins. Was on the verge of buying some for my 335i before I decided to sell it. Hopefully they offer more options for us in the future.

buy my old performance pack rims if you want to change up the tires and the width a tiny bit. oe reliability and simplicity
500 bucks on the back end wont get you alot, and honestly you can wait to save up for some really choice rims. if the tires on the frs are good.... why not run em into the ground first |

Like others said save up for wheels you like.
Hell, if you absolutely want some cheep wheels, used wheels off eBay is you best bet. Sometimes you can get a really good deal if you don't mind a few curb rashes. Just remember you will need tires for those wheels. So that's another expense.

Cheapest 17x7 wheels at Tire Rack are $130/ea (American Racing....not my choice for this car, but they make totally acceptable, if heavy, wheels). Or you could spend a few bucks more and choose something that will actually be considered a performance improvement and get RPF1s in the same size at $146/ea.
$500 is a pretty short budget for wheels...considering the time of year, I'd save up over the winter and have enough money to do it right in the spring.
