Aside from ordering from Subaru.jp, is there a JDM Subaru parts outlet? I'd really like to get an STI suspension (this one when released, not the current springs) and other bits if possible.
Our sister site, avojdm.com, will have them available as soon as they are released.

Although, I do think if/when the BRZ STI suspension is available in take-off JDM form, I think I will run those.

Is that a CF roof cap or an actual CF roof? Agreed that the lip spoiler is ugly and I almost want to question it's functionality just from looking at its minimalist design. But I won't.

Anyone think these rear skirts will fit with the Subaru OEM rear diffuser accessory?

About the 2-tone remarks... well... a stock BRZ already comes with a black bumper guard, black tail pipe surround, and black on the fender garnish and side mirror housings. The STI skirts enhance the existing stock black pieces, IMO. I just don't like the STI rear spoiler and how the carbon hood contrasts to reveal the ugly square-ish hood line.

The hood and the roof in CF are each about 3kg, or 6.6lbs, lighter than the stock.

Before I explain what a rear diffuser does, I should note that the above rear diffuser from subaru is not functional and purely aesthetics.

For a car without a rear diffuser:

- Air hits the front of the car causing a high pressure region in front of the car

- Behind the car there is a low pressure region (think of it like a void)

- Pressure tends to go from high pressure to low pressure

- So basically what happens is that the car is forced backwards because of high pressure region in the front and low pressure region at the rear (this is known as drag)

Car with a rear diffuser:

- Air hits the front of the car -> high pressure region in front of car (as per above)

- This time because we have a rear diffuser, air expands at the bottom rear end of the car where rear diffuser is located

- According to fluid mechanics equations, expanding the air causes the air to slow down

- Air that is slower is associated with higher pressure

- So now we have high pressure region at the front, and high pressure at the rear thereby reducing drag. (high pressure at rear pushes the car forward)

Considering that the hood and roof are wet carbon fibre parts, I'm assuming that we can't paint it to color match the body?

No point for me to think about getting hood or roof if I can't color match it to the body.

Yes, the OEM "diffuser" is useless because it does nothing to improve the airflow below the car, which is not great because we have the diff, exhaust pipe, suspension, etc. sticking out causing drag. To improve aerodynamics, those should first be covered, and then you can look at the "diffuser" portion. The stock "angle" (try to picture a curve that would fit snuggly under the muffler and plastic bumper piece) is probably right on the dot for drag reduction, without going past the bumper.

Anyone else think those side skirts look terrible?

I want to know if the rear bumper winglets, the Subaru "diffuser" and the TRD diffuser will all work together with the right exhaust system. My guess is probably not, but you never know! Looks like the TRD diffuser is a really simple piece to replicate.

Is it pretty normal for a company like AVO to get invited out to see a concept-ish car like this or was Subaru courting you guys for something?

I think most of the STI body bits don't look great. I wish they stuck with something more like the chargespeed sideskirts instead of ones that creep up the sides like that. The wing is questionable at best. The carbon fiber roof is nice though. 6 pounds off the top of the car is great!

Where was this piece? I really wanted to see this thing so I can replace the crappy one on my car. I don't care if it's rice! I'll add a STI oil filter to make it legit.

It looks so different than the STI from the car show. No wider body, no bigger wing, no new tail lights, etc. Is the a self upgrade and stick on a STI badge ? I can see most of these upgrade are after market parts. Yes, the side fender STI badge is missing too.
