so are you still buying the car after the long test ?

did you experience any weird things with the car during your drive ? any engine shake or hesitation on low rpm or something abnormal ?

It would be rude not to after all the effort AFM have made!

No? I drove the engine in all kinds of conditions and revs, it is very smooth and consistent.. Very good engine but some people might consider adding an extra 20 horsepowers to get an extra oomph out of it.. I personally was happy with it as it is..

I think I should try the manual version and see how much power it gives.. Regardless, the car's tail does swing sideways on strong acceleration like a rear wheel drive car should do and traction control kicks in at the last moment leaving you to enjoy that tail swing..

I have finished my review and damn, I need a break, 5 days of driving the car, a couple of days without a decent sleep due to the fact I was too excited to push it around..

I loved it; I would buy one in the future..

Nothing unusual about the fuel cap door but the car only runs on 98 octane super fuel due to the fact it is equipped with direct injection.
Hold On.
In Jordan the highest fuel value is 95. I was thinking of buying the car from Oman/UAE and taking it to Jordan.

Please tell me it is ok?

I am trying to find out a clear answer about this situation. Direct injection is becoming mainstream and it is important to know how to live with it..

As far as I understood low quality fuel will clog the injectors on the long run and periodic cleaning of the fuel injectors is vital to avoid such expensive damage.

FR-S Octane Rating from Manual:

"...The engine is designed to operate at maximum performance using
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 93 AKI (98 RON) or
higher. If 93 AKI (98 RON) fuel is not readily available in your area,
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI (95 RON) may be
used with no detriment to engine durability or driveability. However,
you may notice a slight decrease in maximum engine performance
and you may hear some knocking (pinking) of an engine while using
91 AKI (95 RON) fuel. Use of 91 AKI (95 RON) fuel will not affect your
warranty coverage...."

RON is Octane.

So thankfully 95 octane will work, though not as smoothly as 98.

its because of the poor fuel quality, we have 98 Ron, dont be worry

"note" our gcc car is called toyota 86 just like the Japanese model, and it doesn't have the huge GT logo that you see on the european version.

I hope it's not late - can you ask the price they paid for the 86?

My father checked the price in Oman:

Manual (lowest trim): 11,000 OMR (~ 105,000 AED) (Not in stock - 6alab only)
Auto (2nd trim): 11,500 OMR (~ 110,000 AED) :: I might buy, BUT seems overpriced?*

*The car seem to come with the Premium Headlights (Black Housing rather than all chromed headlights), rear parking sensors and perhaps some other stuff.
I am not sure, does the Middle-East version come with more feautures?

One guy bought the base manual model for AED 95K, the other bought the mid-range automatic for AED 115K.

The base automatic in the UAE is AED 100K and comes with no LSD..

Here is the spec sheet for the ones sold in the UAE:

For Subaru, as they told me, first batch will be on 22 Jun, 5 cars, just one car MT, price is 126k QR for MT and add 5k QR for AT. They will call me when it arrive.

EJ20, I am following you lol, the car is growing over me and I think I will end with one instead of 370z.
