He did it the PERFECT way. If the header is out of the way, it's super easy. Just jack up the engine, remove header, unbolt the and bolt on the new ones. I didn't want to remove the header because the turbo with its lines was already installed and in place.

Sorry for this posts mistakes, I'm on the phone!

@F1point4 - the rattling you here in the videos on low RPM take off is very likely the over-pipe - I have the same header, same configuration, using P&L's rev 1 overpipe and when I first did my install I had that problem - usually when turning left from a stop under hard acceleration. The group buy thread has some suggestions on things to try and get that noise minimized, I know P&L is working on a revised version of the overpipe as well, so you might want to talk to them for specifics on what they are changing. HTH!

Wow that sucks. It would drive me crazy.

as @phat 86, @TouchMyHonda, @circuit_jerk @Dustin@Dynosty, @eibelat and countless othersthat have driven my car can contest my car definitely makes no noise like that.

I usually tell them to drive it like it's their own car to get a feel for it.

I work a double all day today at the bar, and have a company picnic to go to tomorrow. What I will try to do is take several measurements on the angles either sunday night, or monday. My header came from the same jig is everyone elses. my original the jig was built off of was sent to Gmookher and I had a new one built for me at the start of the group buy.

I'm not sure I understand why a couple header designs have the odd routing that redirects exhaust flow in front of the engine before returning towards the rear of the car.
It looks like a lazy redesign from companies using exhaust setups meant for turbo applications, but I'd love a better explanation.

Going about in town

Overall I find the system to be very easy to drive with going about in town. The exhaust definitely lets you know its there when you go through the powerband, but when you get to a easy cruise speed, it quickly gets out of the way. P&L Motorsports and Perrin definitely make good products.

The following videos were just my brother and I going around Dallas. We found some good roads to stretch out Lola's legs while just having random chat. All of it was recorded on a windshield mounted OM-D. I had to rotate all the videos because the camera was upside down :|

After trying this setup, i'm not sure if I want a go pro haha.

P&L first design this header in conjunction with turbo kit. They were one of the first companies to release a turbo, and the first company to have a front mounted turbo design available on the market.

They used the header design wih the intent to create something modular that allows for an upgrade path to their turbo kit. If you have this header they will take the cost of their turbo header from the cost of their turbo kit pricing.

Seems like a poor design if you aren't looking to move towards a turbo kit then.

It seems to make a good bit of power if you research it....

Larger piping will do that. There will also be tighter clearances, less options for front mounted cooling solutions, and more heat in the engine bay.

All these will be the case with any aftermarket header. Not sure what you are getting at....

You're right, go buy a borla.

I am not going to say anyone copied anyone else but Nameless came out with a 4-2-1 design early on which uses an even bigger loop, so much it requires using a different radiator fan. With an equal length design there is only so many ways you can route the larger diameter pipes and be EL. The angle you need to use to fit the merge collectors and still have smooth bends is limited, this necessitating the loops in the P&L, FA20, and Nameless headers.

The other option is make the primary pipes coming off the engine loop around which some of the other manufacturers have done like Borla but the piping diameter is smaller. The other thing the loop allows in the P&L and FA20 headers is room for a cat.

@F1point4 Definitely the overpipe. That's exactly the sound mine was making before I swapped the stock overpipe back on. I have the same exhaust as you.

With as blue as the Borla pipes were, is your car running a little on the lean side?
