Just spent 10 minutes doing this (including a 5 minute test drive) and the results are perfect. I set my clutch just a little bit higher than the brake. I had them even at first, but I didn't quite like how low it sat, so I raised it a hair, took it for another spin, and now it's perfect.

Thanks!

I admit, I'm a complete wuss when it comes to messing with things like this, but the grab in the clutch is by FAR what I dislike most about the car. I might HAVE to try this tomorrow

What if I accidentally touch the secret bolt that makes your entire car fall apart?

Seriously though, I just worry about making an adjustment that MAY ruin the clutch on my brand new car Is this something that if I brought it to the dealership, that they might be able to either help me with, do for me, or at least weigh in on any potential damage to my clutch disc?

Yes, I'm fully aware of how puss it sounds to ask that, but what can I do? I'm very cautious of these types of things

Don't take it to the dealership, they will think you are crazy. In fact, if you do it don't ever tell the dealership, they like to blame things on customers and when you tell them you adjusted a nut on the clutch, they will say you're to blame for the leaking trunk seal etc.

Just do it yourself. It's easy and you'll feel a sense of accomplishment.

I asked a buddy of mine that works in the toyota service dept.
While his words aren't worth crap in a court he did say that this is safe to do and its been done countless times in countless vehicles.
The master cylinder readjusts the clutch pedal's release and full engagement points - nothing affecting the actual clutch (apparently)

Makes me feel a little better, but I'm still a bit hesitant

Just did this - took me less than 5 minutes to do. Big difference in roll out. Lucky I can still contort my body to get under dashboards after so many years.

I did this when the write up first came around and I ended up over adjusting the clutch and when I went to dial it back in I ended up at the stock location..or maybe worse. I drove another members car today with this done and the difference is soooo immense.

I came home and did it to my car in about ten minutes and I would NEVER go back. It's a bit early to say but I think this is gonna end up being my favorite mud ever. If you haven't done it yet get off the computer and go do it! Thank the OP later.

After the adjustment, is your clutch pedal higher or lower or same level as your brake pedal?

Slightly lower.

When I was checking out the BRZ owners car (Phaedrus' car) I rested my iphone on his brake pedal and used it to see that the clutch pedal was about 10-15mm lower. I then did the same thing on my car except I rested my iPhone on my clutch pedal and saw that my clutch pedal was about 10-15mm higher than my brake. Basically the opposite of what seems to be the optimum clutch height.

I would appreciate it if someone can post video when they do the mod to show where the brackets are? i've spent a good 15 minutes and a wrecked back finding the two screws holding the bolt and the only thing that I can see are the two set of screws holding the two switches.

Edit: I also messed up one of the switches... came too loose and the car won't start, i tightened it back and it is all working for now. Obviously, I messed up a simple mod.

Awesome, I didn't like the clutch engagement, but was starting to get used to it. Now, it is where it should have been all along.

I needed a second 14mm wrench as the two nuts on the sensor were pretty tight.
