sorry to bring this back from the dead, but is this the slim OBD cable talked about earlier: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GGLVXG2/ref=pe_344980_150793300_em_1p_0_ti"]Amazon.com: Diageng Low Profile Right or Left Angle OBD 2 II Extension with Flat Ribbon Cable 1'/30cm CAN Bus Compatible: Automotive[/ame]
if not has anyone tried this one and know if it clears out of the way and would 1' be long enough, or should I get the 3'? (plan to mount to the passenger side of radio)
thanks

I have the 1' cable and it's long enough that I can plug it into my obd2, plug the oft cable into that and have it reach the left hand vent on the driver's side. If that helps at all. You could always get the longer one and neatly tuck the extra cables away.

my main concern with the long cable is that there are 3 options, 2 of them are 1' long, but one has 9 and the other 16 pins. From reading before I think I need the 16 pin cable, but the 3' long cable doesn't list how many pins it has.

After my new passenger side dash arrives I might try to fab up one that can actually be set into the passenger side and have and OBD2 cable with a switch to turn on and off and might try to have something that I can pull over the OFT so can't see it when in use. I will post pictures when it's finished.
