Nav upgrade
So my '19 86 TRD SE did not come with navigation. There is an upgrade that can be installed. Searched a little here but couldn't find an answer. Will purchasing the upgrade give me everything I need? Is it just the head unit? Thanks

My $0.02
IMO, Garmin has the best maps and devices. I also feel that getting a standalone GPS is better. I bought my 2006 truck new, the GPS was a $2500 option back then, which I passed on. It would be soooo outdated by now it's not even funny. So, If integration is important to you, get the headunit/navi system. If you are going to keep your car for a few years, IMO, its better to get a Garmin. They have GPS with built in dash cameras and lifetime map packs for $299. Additionally, you can take it out and use it in another vehicle, if you need to.

I'm in a similar situation with the 17 86 special edition.
The upgrade package for the Toyotas is $850 +$40 for a bracket. This is what they told me at the Toyota dealership. https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__8...T29612170.html I decided to instead just purchase a drop in unit, it can't be that expensive and maybe I can upgrade the speakers while I'm at it. |
