A bit busy-bodied but possible. Under 3200lb and priced around Viper/Z06 territory would be a guesstimate.

Rhetorical statement to which I will reply.
Who is paying for this BMW. You are suggesting that every person on this forum has the financial means to own such a car. Even if I had just enough money to purchase said BMW it would still make poor financial sense to purchase said car.
Ah, you mean if someone were to give me such a car? Well then, it would still make more sense to sell the BMW and keep the BRZ.
No? You mean if we, the forum punters, were to win the lottery? Then this BMW is certainly not my first choice.

Personally I'd rather have a 1 Series M which will certainly retain their value due to their limited production.

Kind of awakening an old post, but I'll be able to give some further insight in a few weeks. I'll be driving the car out in CA at the track for training.

I just got back yesterday evening from Palm Springs. I was there all week.

But it does look good and beckons back to the old boxy M3 days

Wrong!
There is not now, nor never has been a BMW that even slightly sparked my interest. Can't give a reason why since I don't really know but I just plain don't like 'em.

I'm not a German, but I live in Munich. I see all day BMW's, including the i-series driven mainly as test vehicles from the factory. I wouldn't buy a BMW either, but they are good cars. They have a great history and focused for many years on the FR platform. Not the crap many carmakers did years ago, by switching to the FF platform mainly for cost savings.

Oh no denying they are great cars! There is just something that turns me off about them. I really do not have a clue what I dislike about them.

Is it the stigma? Before anyone brings up the argument that the Scion badge means the cars are for kids, you did mention the brand is not as well known in Canada. I'm not so sure of the stigma with BMW over there though.

Regardless, even if it wasn't the stigma, sometimes you just don't care about a car because it just simply is not appealing to you, or at least that's the case with me. Though I would love to drive any of the M cars, I have no desire to own a BMW of any year or any model, though I really like the Z4 M.

Could be although I can not put a rational argument out there. Could be my muscle car roots playing with my head but that still would not explain why I fell so hard for DSM, Mitsu and now the FRS. My son's best friend has one and every time he says "Well my Beemer has/will ..." I cringe so it may be a stigma issue.

You should take a spin in a 73/74 2002Ti or a same gen 3.0CSi or an early 80's 635CSi. Those cars are so much fun. I did a round trip from CO to AK in 1989 in a 71 2002 and it was a hoot but if I could have a slightly newer one now with fuel injection I'd rather. The only recent generation BMW I'd want is the Z4 shooting brake.
