Thumbs down Don't lock your pet in your 86!

An owner in Saugus, MA...please don't lock your pet in your 86...it's hot enough for a human after 20 minutes parked in the sun. Sad...

"The firefighters quickly gained access to the car with a vehicle unlocking kit, freeing the panicked animal"

My "unlocking kit" in these circumstances:

Believe it or not, if you live in Tennessee, ANYBODY is legally allowed to break into a a locked car with an animal trapped inside.

Wall-Mart.

/thread.

On the other end of the spectrum: a friend that I've gone to school with my whole life was studying to be a vet after high school. One day she stopped at the local mall to meet her sister for lunch. Her beloved old Blue Heeler was in her Suburban with her. She rolled ALL of the windows half down and hung shade towels in each one. After a nice 1/2hr lunch, she returned to find her pet gone with apparently no explanation. After sobbing on the phone to her Dad for an hour, she climbed into her car to drive away, and noticed a tiny post-it note under her wiper blade. From the Humane Society. With what amounted to a ransom note. Some "good Samaritan" had reported it. Her poor old dog was terrified at the Humane Society and she had to pay to get him back.

My takeaway is that when it comes to pets, people on both sides can lack common sense.

Poor doggy

Most definitely lack of sense on both sides, I've come out to my running car to have someone threatening to break the windows to get the dog out. No you dumbshit, my dog is perfectly fine, the vehicle is running and the AC is clearly set on 65...

why do fucks like them even own pets to begin with if theyre gonna be doing stupid shit like that?! the penalty for anybody that leaves their pet in the car should be locking them inside a car outside in the sun.

No joke. Of course I made it worse on myself with a Raceseng shift knob and lockout. Those things get hot in the heat!

Both are in the wrong in that instance - your friend shouldn't have left an animal in an unattended vehicle.

I bet all the onlookers were taking selfless and videos instead of taking a brick to the window to save the dog.

Sadly, here in Arizona, more than a handful of babies and children die from being left in cars every year, either because they were forgotten, or because the "parent" had something important to do and didn't bother to get a sitter. These "important" things have ranged from working their shift at the "club", to job interviews, to gambling for hours at the casino, all while their kids roasted to death in the car. Summer temps often reach 115+, and even in the spring and fall can easily be over 100. It's disgusting how ignorant people can be.
