Earlier I told a female friend of mine it'd be nice to meet up for food or something, and since usually we hang out with friends, I decided to set expectations and say I've been interested in her for a while, so that's the kind of 1:1 hangout I wanted to have.

She goes "sorry spike but you're not my type and I'm glad you mentioned it this way because if you'd done this while we're in the group you'd only have embarrassed yourself."

I wish I could say I was making this shit up. I thought girls are supposed to wise up a bit after they turn 30?

She's not fully my "type" either but we get along well as friends, she's able to have a professional job, and, at least before this, I thought she was smart (which to me is attractive ). Good lord lol.

I'm not like super pissed off about it and I won't dwell on it, but the whole "you'd have embarrassed yourself" is making me seriously cringe.

Glad you dodged that bitch. The wall is around the corner, she will hit it harder than I expected.

Newsflash: PEOPLE rarely wise up without dramatic reasons to do so. This applies mostly to the pretty ones. Self-absorbed twats can suck it.

Someone needs a reminder that their shit stinks too. It's more embarrassing that she think so highly of herself that not only does she not want to date you, she thinks everyone else would find it ridiculous too. Get over yourself lol

You deserve better, and there is better out there.

She certainly just embarrassed herself, that's for sure.

Seriously wtf? An actual adult, normal, HUMBLE thing to do would be to have been flattered and then give a truthful and considerate explanation about why she's not looking to pursue a romantic relationship.

Not some bs about how it would've been "embarrassing" if he had brought this up in a group setting (who would even do that anyway?)

What a weirdo.
