Im a scientist by trade and i have no idea why this became a science thread. Just wanted to point out what ever bullet gets will be a figure that will show a lower result that would be if put on a Dynojet.
And honestly this is a very professional shop and wont stop there. To their credit they were responsible for the road registered and only one V8 powered MX5 then making over 20 cars. Now if you do the maths that cost them over $300 k, for a MX5 to get it R&D and road registered for the first car ! Tell me how many shops would sink that kind of money ? |

STFU with the OT bantering.
OP, so can we expect more info this weekend or monday? I would go this route over turbo anyday of the week if it still yields close to 300whp. |

A supercharger especially of this type is definitely not going to come close to that peak power. You will however get a ton of torque/power in the low/mid range and medium power in the upper revs. turbo will always be more efficient at making peak power due to less parasitic losses. |

I can see the drag race crowd pushing these to 350-400whp on E85 tunes with more boost. I'm sure the car will be fun with that much power, but it probably doesn't really need more than 320whp to be a riot.

They just updated facebook with a teaser of information:
This is what you have been waiting for, FTZ 86 Power figures Initial Tune For Brisbane to Sydney Road Test / WTAC Torque at 4000rpm up 31% from 136nm to 178nm Peak Torque at 5750rpm up 25% from 160nm t0 200nm Power at 4000rpm up 31% from 56kw to 73.5kw Peak Power at 6750rpm up 21% from 106.8kw to 128.7kw MORE TO COME Peak power went from 143 hp to 172.5 (21% increase) They dont provide boost #'s so it is really hard to say yet. I wasn't expecting much peak power from a supercharger like this but let's see what boost they are on |
