overprotective

does the frs have you thinking about where you're going before driving it there. such as how congested the area is, will there be a big parking lot where you can park away from others etc. basically how over protective are you of your new baby? have you decided not to go somewhere because you didn't want to leave your car there?

I've got a couple of pictures of how overprotective I'm being in the parking garage where I park now but I'll have to add them when I get home from work. The first time I parked there I parked only inches from a wall so that people wouldn't be able to get too close on the other side. Now I have a spot I park in daily that's between a crosswalk and a pillar so no one can park next to me.

The garage is also an over protective reaction. The place I work does have a free company lot for parking, but it's out in the middle of nowhere and I can't bring myself to leave my car out there. Also, whenever I go places I pick far away spots that are against curbs.

I do this too. Whenever I go back to my car I walk around it looking for marks.

I wasn't overprotective until a woman found my car sitting in an open area of a parking lot and decided she would run it over.

Now that I have it back I leave it in the garage and take my girlfriend's tC.

I do, but I do this with all of my vehicles... I always park in the back of the lot where nobody else is parked. I don't mind the extra exercise getting into the store or wherever I am. Buuuut if somebody still happens to park next to me, I always check for door dings, always! I am mainly more paranoid now than ever in traffic, I just fear getting rear ended in my new car especially since I have already been in two vehicles this year that got rear ended!

I'm to the point where I don't even like parking next to another car, for fear of them being completely careless and hitting my car with their door. And yes, I do park in the back of places/parking lots, next to curbs if possible. If I'm going to place where I can see my car consistently, then I'll go look at it to make sure no one is near it. And I've also avoided going to places that are too crowded or made up an excuse to go a different way because of the road.

I'm going in the grave early from this stress. *Firstworldproblems*

I park as far as possible, am super careful w/ door dings. I'll take the other car if i think it'll be a really busy place or bad spot for door dings lol.

As I said in my earlier posts, here's a couple of pictures that show just how protective I've been with my car since I got it.

The first day I drove it to work and parked it in the parking garage.

This is a spot I managed to find. There's four spots right in that area and there's usually two open when I get there in the morning.

I'm a lot more lax with where I park my FR-S than where I park my Tundra. I try to park all my cars in the bleeds though.

The Tundra gets parked in the absolute middle of nowhere though. Don't care to have some granny or baby momma swing hers or their kids doors open and smack it.

Count me in. I'm OCD when in comes to my car. I try to stay back a ways when following other cars to avoid rocks peppering the front.

I park away from other people without parking so far away that my car looks conspicuous. At work I park in the back of the lot by myself; once someone had parked next to my usual spot and so I double-parked to make sure I would have ample room on either side. (There were plenty of spaces available; this isn't something I typically do.)

Edit: I should also add that I began renting a garage after seeing how close people parked to me (and to others) at my apartment complex. This also all came after a coworker dinged my car at work.

Damn you people; got me thinking again... I remember this just like if it was yesterday...
So I parked at a supermarket a couple months ago...Purposely parked in the far empty corner of the parking lot with my passenger side right against a wall.

Came back after shopping and saw a co-op (car share) vehicle parked up RIGHT beside me while all the spaces around it was completely empty!
As paranoid as I was; I let go of my shopping bags and inspected my driver door. Low and behold; I found a damn dent...with the paint scuffed.

These damned people, man... No matter where I go or how cautious I am with parking, they ALWAYS end up finding a way to tick me off.
Now, I don't take the BRZ for shopping anymore, instead take the family car. lol... Much safer and saves me the headache.

[/Rant]
