While the countersunk allen head bolts look nice, I am not exactly happy about having to add another tool to my tool bag, just for this one part. A 10mm or 12mm hex head would have been preferable, since those are "must-have" wrench sizes for this car.

Oh, I know that, but I carry a "minimal" tool kit with me at all times. Many Japanese car mfgs use only 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 and 21mm for almost every fastener on the entire car, and having to add a tool for one specific aftermarket part is an annoyance. Certainly not the end of the world, but I wish more aftermarket part manufacturers would think of such things. Usually the cause for the annoyance is when I'm in the middle of working on the car in the garage, and then run across that one non-standard fastener, which means I've got to trudge back into the basement to get the tool just for that one fastener. I'm not picking on you guys specifically. Ground Control made me add TWO tools to my tool kit, and Borla also made me add one. First World problems indeed. |

That's not to say that we couldn't supply someone with hex cap bolt vs socket head cap screws for all the fastener--it definitely won't look at clean but will still work. MrC |
