What insurance company you got? GEICO? My understanding is when GEICO has huge losses they raise the premiums. I heard they lost a lawsuit to California, 6 million bucks they had to pay out.
Which is why I switch to Progressive this year. I had Island Insurance for 33 years and left them when I had another Scion.

I have Island Insurance. If the premium is raised for a reason like GEICO, then I would think both Prius and FR-S go up. Only FR-S went up and Prius didn't. So, I think it's something to do with the car.

I'm curious, has anyone here received a speeding ticket in the past and know how much the insurance increase was?

I mentioned I have a clean record now, but when the FRS was new, I got 2 speeding tickets in a month. went from $150/month at the time to $250/month.

Then got an at fault accident. Went to $400

As I mentioned I had Island Insurance for 30 something years from the age of 19 yrs old. When I began researching other insurance companies I learned that depending on the profit/loss margin, Island Insurance would pass the higher premiums to customers when they've had severe losses. GEICO does the same. In fact GEICO had upped my premium this year to $150 something more a year. That's why I jumped to Progressive. IMHO I'd shop around and see if you can get a lower cost for your FRS. You're paying $826.00 a year or every 6 months with Island Insurance? Mine is $485.00 with Progressive for 6 months.
