Well, this rules out me getting one then. I'm shorter than you. #86shortsquad

If you have to be negative and derisive, at least be specific and up front about it.

Well, the one that looks like a vinyl-covered loaf of bread or the top of my grandma's toilet seat cover for starters.

That is specific and up front. Something I can disagree with.

Can anyone tell me where to get this? or how it works? Like I get that it sits nice and looks good, but from the picture here.. It looks like you can just flip it to the side to access the cup holders?

With harnesses, and honestly without before since I'm awkwardly tall, the center cup holder is a huge joke and way too far back if you're using the cigarette port to charge a phone (usb is way too slow)
All 86s have the door drink holders, but you're not supposed to use that with certain kinds of drinks. Water bottles and mugs are the only things I would put in there.

Got mine here:
http://www.fteightysix.com/new-produ.../#.VIuhkDHF98F

You have to drill holes in the center console and it screws into that. It hinges open from the passenger side, so the driver can access it. Cup holders are still available, but I only use those occasionally. It's more for someone who rarely uses the cup holders, but occasionally needs them (e.g. my girlfriend and her coffee).

IMO they all suck, some more than others, and the OEM ones are way overpriced.

Why can't someone come out with a normal type armrest that flips back, not to the side, like armrests in other vehicles. It would just require drilling a few holes for a back hinge.

Have to agree that the prices some dealerships get are pretty steep. I think I recall from another thread that someone paid over $400 for an OEM armrest installed. Even at $250 it seems a tad expensive for what it is. I do realize that OEM interior parts are rarely a bargain.
