I'm not related to them at all. I just emailed them and posted on their Facebook page since I'm really interested in this kit. The pic was posted in this thread earlier.

Awe... I got all excited when I saw this thread bump. Can't wait to see more details about their kit either. Been reading as much as I could find about the HKS and Litchfield setups this past week...

Any new info?

I just badgered JR to get on here and start engaging some technical discussion as they get closer to releasing this kit.

Hopefully they will and we can get some solid info.
Hopefully they will have some housing that the filter will go in so it's not sucking engine bay air. Other then that, looks sexy. The claims in the other thread are unsupported as of yet but it's not finished yet, so Dynos arnt released to say yea or neah.

Well if you consider that air is going to be compressed anyways and sent through a front mount intercooler anyways it's not a huge deal, but yeah a housing or even a heat shield around the bottom/backside would probably work well.

My 951 never had issues with the filter element exposed in the engine bay near the coolant expansion tank and I'm pretty sure it got much hotter in the bay than this kit would ever allow.

The turbo is even directly underneath the intake manifold... ugh

Yeah but why increase your IAT's if you don't have to. There's examples out there they can follow.

This wouldn't be difficult or cost prohibitive:

problem solved

Underhood hot air intake is bad engineering in todays world.

The shop down the street has a twin Rotrex supercharged Ferrari and they keep blowing up their superchargers. Are these things reliable? Or just not reliable when you start to push them?

Assumptions based on a survey sample of 1 make me lol

I don't think they'd come with a 3 year warranty if they kept blowing up.

HKS have been using a Rotrex unit on their GT86 race car for a while now

In your example where their are alot of unknowns, they could be over driving them, just like a vortech or innovate or any turbo, if your pushing them out side their bounds they will fail quicker.

No. This kit does not magically defy laws of physics. No automotive engineer in 2013 is going to source underhood air for an engine.. period. Ghetto.

Fenton. Yes. These make a rising boost curve like a vortech.
