How does OP file suit in California without first going through the required arbitration procedure that applies to all Scion and Toyota warranty issues in California?

I just mean the time you spent, even 15 min is 15 too much on something with so much ridiculousness.

But he's here to gather evidence! Nothing will stop OP from taking down the greedy Toyota corporate monster!

Yet we have these threads every so often...

I wrote what I did because I wish for someone in the future to search for warranty issues, come across this thread, and have a greater understanding of how warranty works and how public posts can affect your chances of a favorable settlement or outcome.

I'm not going this for OP, I'm doing this for everyone else that cares about how the legal system works in the US.

The underlying lie here is that a new transmission DOES NOT cost 10K. I took my first BRZ to a dealership in the morning and picked it up in the evening with a new transmission. Total cost, $1650, it was under warranty so it didn't cost me a thing.

Did you flip some numbers around there?

If you can find brand new transmissions for less than a set of wheels and tires I'll buy two please.

Nope. I have a part from the dealer showing the transmission at that price. While it's possible that it's what their cost would have been, even at $2200-2500 street price and 10-12 hours of labor, it's still not half of what you're claiming.

I'll bet there's a lot more to your story and you're just trying to get attention. All you're going to get out of this is YouTube views and ridicule.

Hi, I have nothing to do with the OP, I just want a cheap tranny thanks!

Edit: ~$2,300 here before shipping you are correct that it's much lower than the ~$5k others have quoted here.

Then I'm sorry. It's clear though that the OP is just trying to get attention...

100K and still have the original fluid, TOB and everything else. No grinding, lockouts, squeaks or any other issue that gets complained about either.

Over the years I have told 6 people on here to pull their threads and any other info they may have posted elsewhere. Of those 6, three did so right away (they had a mod delete the whole thing) and three said "screw you I know what I am doing" like this guy did. In the end there were 3 guys that ended up getting the work done under warranty and 3 that didn't. Anybody want to guess which ones won? Now in fairness the 3 that did win also had completely legit claims that were winnable as long as they didn't say anything that could be twisted around so pulling the threads may have had no impact in the long run. Broadcasting your plan and all your details never work well in a court though.
