Talking Rev Works Built - Hot Lava FR-S aka "Scarlet" On CCW's

Well let me just start by saying that our customer, @orlfrs86 has been a huge supporter and valued part of the Rev Works Team! thanks for letting us be a part of this build.

So this FR-S came to us with 49 miles on the odometer. It was literally driven from the dealership lot, to our shop and dropped off with us. When Eduardo showed up with this brand new FR-S, we knew he had some big plans for the car. We sat down and and started discussing the plans for the car and direction he wanted to take it. At first he wanted to turn this into a full on track car, but as he currently owns an STi that we have already begun turning into a track star, he decided he wanted a car that would do well at car shows, but could also kill it around an autoX course. So after much deciding and part searching we found the perfect parts to suit Eduardo's needs.

Here is a current Mod list of whats been done to the car:

Engine/Power
Suspension/brakes
Wheels & Tires
  • CCW LM20's 18x9.5 Front 18x10 Rear
  • Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 255/35/18 Front
  • Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 265/35/18 Rear

Interior/Exterior
  • Seibon CF Front Lip
  • Flat black GT86 Badges and Toyota Emblems
  • Sideskirt extensions and rear spats
  • TRD Shift Knob
  • Sparco 505 Seats w/ red stitch*Not yet Installed*

So this is how the car showed up to us. 100% Bone stock!

Our first steps to making this car a little more awesome was to order all the parts. So we started gathering everything together. Needless to say, we wasted no time!

Injen Intake

Some Hotchkis Goodies in the form of Strut bars and Swaybars (Front and Rear), to help the stability of the car.

Next the Cusco control arms. These helped out a lot when it came to getting the alignment dialed in for the car. I highly recommend these arms, for the person looking to get their camber on point!

All these handling parts would be useless though without some stopping power, so we opted for a set of Hawk HPS front and rear pads and Stoptech Stainless steel lines. This combo would be a great daily driver setup as they are not super aggressive or overly noisy, yet would still give him plenty of bite on the autox course.

Next up were the Stance Coilovers. These helped us get the ride height right where we wanted, along with planting the car to the road. With the addition of both the Sway bars, strut bars, and coilovers, this car has virtually ZERO body roll!

A nice shot of the camber plates that come standard on all Stance coilovers!

And a shot of us applying anti-seize to the coilovers. We do this on every coilover we install and recommend it to everyone who installs coilovers. this will ensure adjust ability for years to come!

Perrin Lightwweight Crank Pulley was the first piece that we got installed on this virgin of a motor.

Next up was the Injen Intake. This really helped the car breathe.

The Hotchkis strut tower brace was then installed. We really like the design of this bar how it incorporates bracing to the firewall, in the same way the factory does. And it looks amazing under the hood!

Now on the the power pieces. The first to go on the car was the Perrin over pipe and front pipe. Perrin did a great job on making these pieces and the quality of these 2 pipes is superb!

Next up was the newely release M7 T-Titan catback exhaust. This was a quick shot over the factory exhaust next to the M7 and Perrin pieces.

The M7 catback comes with adjustable exhaust tips, which is a nice feature for the customer, as it allows them to change the amount that the tips wil either stick in or out of the bumper.

Perrin Overpipe installed.

M7 T-titan Catback installed, along with a good view of the Cusco control arms.

Now on to the wheels. Dan over at CCW did a lot of number crunching to see what we could fit underneath this brand new platform. What we came up with was a set of CCW LM20's 18x9.5 fronts and 18x10 rear with Satin centers and Gloss black lips. These wheels really set the car apart and finished off the overall look. Fitment was on the money and with only -2* front and -3* rear camber, with didnt take much to make them fit at the height we set them to without rubbing.

Now on to the alignment rack to get the numbers dialed in.

We like to protect your investment so we take precautions on each rim to ensure no damage occurs!

Also, got all new badges for the car and blacked them all out to match the theme of the car.

And the final product!

Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did building it! Stay tuned for more upgrades and pictures!

Thanks
-Matt

Is there a way to run these wheels without so much camber? I really dont like the crooked wheel look.

This particular setup is a bit too aggressive to run any less camber. If you were to run a smaller tire and add a little height to it, you could probably get away with less camber.
