@Covo_86 do you drive around the main parts of the city with stop n go traffic? if so, how is your clutch holding up? JW

For modding an automatic, i would limit myself just incase one day he would trade it in for an MT(like when STI brand comes out)

I'm going auto and one of the first mods will be a diff change to a 4.55. That will help mitigate some of the launch advantage of a manual. That said I want to spend some quality time with the car, without powertrain mods, just to get a better feel for what Tada-san achieved with the car and help me understand whether each mod I do is actually adding to the car and not removing something.

There's some pretty interesting mods to be had for AT's out there. I'd do some searching on this lively site of ours to see what people have tried and their impressions on the result.

i did some light modding to my auto when i had it, but i dunno if i'd recommend an exhaust. they really don't sound great with an auto, even in manual mode. when you shift gears and get back on the gas there's like a weird hesitation in the exhaust note before it sounds right again. always bothered me.

Wait, wut? Why would you need to "get back on the gas"? Were you really shifting an auto like you would a manual?

^^^^^ This. If you change the FD then there is a good chance that the automatic will be quicker than the manual. Many of the automatics produced today achieve faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times than their manual counterparts.
If I bought a automatic FR-S this would be the first mod I did.

Honestly if rowing through gears and launching is the only thing you want to do with this car, then you bought the wrong car
