I've summarized all the feedback and handed it over to the development and design team.

As soon as I hear back regarding anything, I will let everyone know!

And if you want access to the storage compartment, you just pull up on the release, and up comes the armrest when you continue pulling up.

(Dunno if this is what you guys implied by mentioning a rear-hinged device, but it's just my two cents and seems to solve a lot of issues.)
He says it doesn't fall closed with the side hinge, so I assume they could manage that with the rear hinge. And it's not going to stick up high enough to block visibility.

And while I like the rear sliding idea, it would increase to complexity (price).

Strait up, Ill just throw away the useless center cup holder and use the door pockets.

Yes...it certainly would. I wouldn't mind paying the extra for the premium feature though...hence why I got the BRZ Limited. Like others have said... "Shut up and take my money!"

Perhaps they can make them in different trim levels...

Exactly, I would have the exact same problem.

Those arm rests are way too low, for me anyways.

I get the bluetooth thing but I'm in a BRZ and to try and initiate a call from the NAV unit is joke. I need access to the phone

Looks nice. Can it hold a CD or two and still shut?

I don't need cup holders, I haven't used a cup holder and don't drink liquids while driving. Threw out that little insert, didn't see the point. Seems kind of odd to me, but whatever.

something I can see between this design and the one I built for my car (still not covered, curently testing it with a pillow cover to see if height and size is good), on mine I covered the BRZ heated seat switches and mine goes over the handbrake cover (I rounded it instead of following the square shape) and since I'm 5'9'' , my arm rest most of the time on those two differences I got from your design, I will post pictures for you to get an idea of what I mean really soon

maybe an additional piece could be sold appart to glue in the heated seat sqare for the non-premium guys

or since MOST of you won't use often heated seats, make your design to go up to the silver buttons wich won't cancel them but drivers will have to open the arm-rest to turn the switches ON

That's a good idea. The heated seat switches are ugly and should be hidden, anyway!

Some obvservations:

1.) The side opening does inhibit access to the passenger so it may not be ideal. It works on the Tacoma somewhat because the cupholders are in front of the gearshift and not located inside the cupholders.

2.) Make it open conventionally upwards like on alot of cars, you inhibit rear space for the cupholders BUT....

3.) Rear seats should have their own cupholders if anything. Being that car is this small and the rear seats are almost next to useless its not a big deal. One possible solution:

4.) Have the armrest open up a full 180 degrees and have some shallow(ish?) cupholders on the inside of the armrest (like on a Cavalier/sunfire) Kill 2 birds with one stone. If the rear passengers need cupholders, you got it. If you dont...well...i supposed you can have the armrest be 2 stage where it opens 180degrees or it opens up 90degrees?

5.) another option would be to have the armrest open up like in the lexus cars, where it slides back a little before folding up. But that requires some intrusion space into the driveshaft tunnel between the front seats and the rear seats and im not sure if the FRS/BRZ even has that space or if it does, has enough space for it.
